International SUCK

Posted by Tomithey on July 4th, 2005

He only played a few of my favorites, and most of the stuff he played I didn’t even know. He also played WAY too many bad cumbias. The only highlights of the night (musically) were getting to dance to Paulina Rubio’s version of Fotos Y Recuerdo, Ana Barbara’s Loca, and The Kumbia Kings remix of Baila Esta Kumbia. He played India’s version of No Debes Jugar, but Rico Suave didn’t want to dance to it because he doesn’t really like salsa.

iPod iTrip

Posted by Tomithey on June 14th, 2005

I bought the iTrip this weekend and I’m loving it. I won’t use it in my car because I have a line in on my stereo, so I don’t need the iTrip. I’ve been using it at work with my little stereo on my desk. I can listen to my music now without having to wear my headphones, which is good because those things were starting to make my ears hurt. Whoever made those must have had big ear holes… freaks!

I just want a nap

The reason I started doing this was because I wanted to make a fun 80’s playlist, but I don’t really know which songs came out when. I spent the first half of the 80’s being too young to care about music, and the half of the 80’s overseas in Japan. So when we moved back to the US in 87, I was completely unaware of the music scene. I caught up on my 80’s music by watching classic MTV.

Oldies but Goodies!

What’s funny is that I remembered some of those songs to be a lot more entertaining than they actually are. I put in a few tapes and was blown away by how bad they sucked. I can’t believe I used to listen to some of that trash. Some of it never gets old though, like Candyman - Knockin’ Boots, JJ Fad - Supersonic, Sheila E - Sex Cymbal… and so on.

Reggae time!

Posted by Tomithey on June 3rd, 2005

Today is ghetto on my iPod playlist. I started the day off with rap and now I’ve moved onto reggae. I’m jamming to Patra, Shabba Ranks, Shaggy, Sean Paul, and whoever else I have on here. There’s some UB40, which I’m counting as reggae… cuz it’s close enough.

New Layouts and Ringers

Posted by Tomithey on June 2nd, 2005

So I noticed on Ryan’s website that he used one of the same stock layouts as me for his journal. I can’t have the same layout as someone in such close circles, so I had to alter mine. It’s now called 7Tomithey in the layout switcher in the sidebar. I also added a few more themes, some which I altered, some I left alone.

People en Espanol en Ingles

Posted by Tomithey on June 2nd, 2005

I made him read to me my People en Espanol magazine that I bought this weekend. I had to know what Paulina, Thalia, and yes… even Madonna were up to in Spanish. I wish they would publish another version of People en Espanol en Ingles. Anyway, I was excited to learn that Paulina has two new CDs coming out, one in English and one in Spanish and she’ll be working with Pharell on the English one!

My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult

Yesterday’s work day started off really bad and towards the end it got better. I made some decisions and took action and that seemed to help clear my mind.
After work I went to Xoch’s and we went shopping and to dinner together. We went to this place by her house and got the […]

Mariah Carey

Posted by Tomithey on May 25th, 2005

Yesterday people were getting on my last nerve. Someone was at my desk every five minutes asking me to do something, complaining about something, and looking for something. Sometimes I feel like I’m nothing but a babysitter here. I have to keep track of everything for everyone and even more sad I […]

Obsessed with iTunes

Posted by Tomithey on May 24th, 2005

Yesterday I had planned on going to the gym after work, but that didn’t happen. I just didn’t feel up to it. I was tired and cranky and just wanted to go home. So what did I do instead? I sat at my desk and obsessively rated music in my iTunes […]
