This weekend has been good. It’s gone by a little too fast, but at least I don’t feel like I’ve just sat around on my butt the entire time.
Friday night I went out to the grand opening of the Rusty Spur, the new gay country bar in Austin. It’s really nice and it has a great patio. I was feeling guilty about ditching on Rainbow and was feeling bad about not ever going to my favorite bartender anymore.
To my surprise, when I walked in, all the bartenders in the Rusty Spur were from Rainbow, including my favorite! Yays! Unfortunately they had a problem with the A/C Friday night and it was HOT HOT HOT in there.
You know that doesn’t stop me. I still danced all night and had a great time. The dance floor was extra slippery, but as the night went on it got better and better. The dance floor is pretty new, so it just needs to be worn in.
That place has a HUGE patio and the patio connects it with the bar next store, which is more of a dance bar/lounge. It’s nice to be able to have that variety in the same location… not that I imagine I’ll be spending much time in the dance bar.
Saturday I went to help Xochi donate some stuff to Goodwill and then we went and looked at million dollars home, mostly in the 4 million dollar range. I love being a REALTOR! We saw some great homes right on the lake that were really beautiful inside and out. Some of them were a little surprising because for the money, there wasn’t too much special about them, they were just big.
There was one house we went to that had an entire separate wing that could only be accessed by a stairway outside, or an elevator inside. It was weird, but still very nice.
Saturday night I went out to the Rusty Spur again. This time the a/c was working. It was so nice to be out dancing in a bar that was actually COOL! It’s still a little weird to not be at Rainbow and still be with all the same people. I’ve been going to Rainbow for a long time and I’m going to miss it a little.
Right now I’m watching what I think is Water Polo at the Olympics. This game looks ridiculous. I can’t barely even tell what it going on because the water hides so much.
I’m really tired right now. I’m going to have to get to bed early tonight if I’m going to want to be functional this coming week.
Not sure what I’m going to do today. I need to do some invoices. I’m so sick of doing those right now.
