I think I cursed myself when I said on Friday that I wanted to spend the weekend doing nothing but relaxing. I haven’t done much interesting all weekend, but I haven’t really been bored either.

Saturday I spent the entire day in the house doing next to nothing. I read a lot, napped, and yep, that’s it. I finished reading my book, Mirror Mirror, and now I don’t know what I’m going to read next. I can’t remember if I’ve already read Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, and if not, then I will be reading that next.

Paco came home around 6 and we couldn’t decide what to do and so we ended up just hanging out at home. We did watch Because I Said So, which he enjoyed, and I had already seen. Diane Keeton really got on my nerves in that movie. She overdid it with the physical acting, and her wardrobe really annoyed me. I watched the special features on the DVD and there was a feature on the style of the movie, with the wardrobe girls talking about how they wanted her to resemble the old schools moms like Lucille Ball. Yeah, that was obvious, but they really overdid it. They also made Mandy Moore look horrible and frumpy in ever scene.

Sunday we got up late and decided to take a road trip. We decided to go to the outlet malls in San Marco and just browse around. We made a pit stop at my parent’s house and played some Wii for a while. Paco was actually pretty good at it. We’re thinking about getting one for ourselves, but I really don’t know how much use it would get. I used to have a Sega, Playstation, or something like that and I rarely ever payed it.

It was a nice day to walk around the outlet malls because it wasn’t too hot and it wasn’t too sunny. We didn’t do too much shopping and neither of us bought anything, but it was fun to look. What’s with all the Chinese people at the outlets though? It is interesting to see what ethnicities prefer which stores, and I know that’s totally stereotyping, but it was pretty obvious when you go in a crowded store and it’s mostly Latinos, or mostly Asians, or Caucasians, or older people. I started trying to guess who would be in each store before we walked in, and I was usually right.

One the way back to Austin it started raining extremely hard and traffic all but came to a stop, because people in Texas don’t know how to drive in anything but sunshine, and even then it’s not good. You’d think after having 140 something straight days of rain people would get used to it, but no. We had to drive about 5 miles an hour on the interstate going home because it was raining.

We stopped at Bill Miller’s BBQ for dinner and I regretted it shortly after walking in, but Paco wanted BBQ and I started thinking of their delicious rolls. Of course the rolls ended up being old, not warm and delicious, and Paco’s ribs were old as well. I guess we either got the leftovers from the dinner rush, or the REALLY leftovers from the lunch rush.

Sunday night we watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which Paco had never seen. He didn’t really want to watch it though, he thought it looked dumb. He enjoyed it though, and I knew he would. I totally know what kind of movies he will like.

Today I woke up semi-early and Paco woke up REALLY late. We went to get some food and Paco showed me how to make his Sopa de Tortilla. Well, he didn’t volunteer to show me. I had asked him to make it and then we he started cooking I got out a pad and pen and started writing his recipe. I am ALWAYS asking him to make it and yet in the year and three months we have been together he has only made it three times. I told him once I had the recipe we could break up because I won’t need him anymore!

It takes a lot of work to make it all from scratch, and believe me, I’ve already started trying to think of shortcuts. I’m going to have to practice making it one unsuspecting guests. Once I have it perfected, I will start trying shortcuts.

I just finished watching Nadie Conoce A Nadie, which I only rented because of Eduardo Noriega. I love watching Spanish movies with the English subtitles because it helps me learn Spanish and how people talk. This movie was from Spain and I have a really hard time understanding Spain Spanish as opposed to Mexican Spanish. I felt like I wasn’t understanding any of it and had to rely completely on the subtitles. The accent is just slightly enough to throw me off. I’m sure once I learn more and practice more, the accents won’t throw me off so much. I still have a hard time understanding people of who’s speech pattern I’m not accustomed.

I realized I had become lazy with my studying and so the past few nights I’ve been reading my Spanish tutorials. It’s sad that Paco and I have been together over a year and I can’t fluently speak Spanish yet.

That’s all I have for now.
