The working at Target is not going so well. They posted the next week’s schedule on Thursday and they over scheduled me AGAIN. Not only did they over schedule me, but they have me scheduled to work 6 days in a row! I guess whoever does the scheduling doesn’t bother to look at the previous week when working on the current one.
So this week I’m supposed to work Wednesday through Saturday and then next week Sunday and Monday. And when am I supposed to have time to wash clothes, shop for food, sleep, and have a life? IDIOTS. I was supposed to work this past Saturday and Sunday, but I didn’t go in. I had already worked 20 hours (which is already at the high point of what I wanted to work), and I wasn’t going to work 16 more.
I need to call them today and tell them that they are going to have to give me Friday and Saturday off, move me to cashier, and stop over scheduling me, or take my notice because I’m quitting. I may also have to just say I’m not available to work Tuesdays and Saturdays, that way there would be no way they could schedule me to work more than four days in a row again.
This weekend was actually pretty nice. Friday I just relaxed and watched a movie, Madeinusa, which wasn’t really all that good. Then Saturday I had to do some shopping. My brake lights aren’t working anymore… again! I went to get my oil changed and bought some lights to fix the problem.
When I got home I changed the fuse and the lights started working again, so I didn’t need the lights I had just bought. I turned on and off my vehicle several times to make sure it still worked, and it did. The last time I had this problem I would change the fuse and it would work only until I turned it off and then back on again. Well, I don’t know how long it worked, but I noticed Sunday night that they weren’t working again. I guess I’m going to have to take it to the dealer.
Saturday night Paco and I went to dinner and then to see Spiderman 3, which was totally boring. The only excitement we had was unrelated to the movie. There is a scene in the movie where he is listening to the police scanner and waiting to hear about some criminal, well right at the point we heard sirens and then the lights in the theater came on. We all thought it was part of the movie “experience” until the alarm started going off and they announced “Please exit the building. There is an emergency in the building and we must evacuate.” Oooh, scary!
So we all rushed out of the theater and into the back alley, which was coated in spilled sodas and trash. We were out there for about 5 minutes, when an employee announced we could go back in. Apparently one employee accidentally opened a emergency exit. IDIOTS.
Sunday I went downtown and had lunch with M.Lo. I had to buy an anniversary present for Paco. I ended up getting him a really nice cross key chain and had it engraved. I also bought him a CD he had been wanting and an Andrew Christian shirt.
Sunday night we had dinner together and then exchanged anniversary presents. He got me some green Puma sneakers. After that, we watched Dream Girls. It was ok. Beyonce still really gets on my nerves. I think it’s funny how similar her story is to that one. Although, in the movie, at least the woman she plays feels bad about stealing all the fame.
Later on we went out to Rainbow for Latino night. We had fun dancing, but it was a little too crowded to really enjoy. We barely had room to move on the dance floor and everyone was bumping into everyone else.
Monday we woke up late, went grocery shopping, and spent the day being bums. It was a nice anniversary. Today I’m back at work and I’m hoping this week will be an easy one… although I’m dreading having to go work at Target.
