This weekend (Sunday) I went to Cirque du Soliel with Paco and his mother for her birthday. We went to see it in Houston and we had an entire day planned around it. We woke up early and were going to go to the Galleria, have lunch, and then see the show at 5. We forgot one big thing. It was Easter Sunday. The Galleria was closed, and most everything else was as well. So what to do?
We were NOT happy. We had several hours to kill and nowhere to go. We drove around for a while looking for anything to do, and there was NOTHING. So we went to have lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. It was crazy busy in there and almost nowhere to move. I hate eating in busy restaurants. I hate the noise and I hate being crowded into small spaces.
The Cirque show was a LOT smaller than I had expected. We were 9 rows from the stage and there was probably only about 20 - 25 rows behind us. It was a good show, but I had just expected so much more. The first, and only other, Cirque show I have seen is O. That was a big production and it was AMAZING. This wasn’t even 1/4 as good, but still very entertaining.
The most interesting part of the show, for me, was the two little people in the show. I just did some reading on Wikipedia about midgets and dwarfs. Apparently midget was the original word used to describe shorter people with proportionate bodies and dwarfs were the same, but with disproportionate bodies. These two people in the show (a man and a woman) were SOOOOO tiny, but completely proportionate, and they had really high pitched voices. SO CUTE.
At one point the little woman (who must have been about 50) was rigged with these huge helium balloons and she was floating around on stage. One of the other actors tossed her out into the audience and asked us to toss her around. It was so funny. People were grabbing on her feet and pushing her around like a beech ball and she was squealing and giggling… and it all sounds kind of bad now and like she was being taken advantage of, but it wasn’t like that at all. It was hilarious.
Yesterday Paco was off. It was such a blah day. We woke up late. We did laundry, washed dishes, and went grocery shopping. It was gross outside and cold, so it was nice to be in the house.
I’m just watching TV right now, and I’m about to catch up on some shows online. Speaking of TV, my favorite commercials right now are those Sunsilk commercials for blonds and brunettes. Those are so funny! I love that one line, “Brunettes are about as ladylike as their mustaches.”

I will be sending good vibes your way at 3:30!!! Good luck!
