Friday I went out with M.Lo to Baby A’s to have drinks and celebrate my vacation from 3M. Then we went out downtown to have a little more fun. I had such a good time. I always have the best time with M.Lo. She first took me to this bar in East Austin and it was such a dump. I think it’s called the A TX Bar or something like that. OMG that place was lame and I was the only person in there that was white, and we were probably the only people in there that spoke English and were born in the US.

We stayed long enough to chug a beer and them ran. We went to 6th street and went from one crappy straight bar to the next. We did stop at RCC for a bit as well and I had a great time dancing and chatting. I miss hanging out at the place, and I miss my friends… but hanging with Paco is so great so it’s worth it.

Saturday night we went to Eric’s Hello Kitty Birthday Party. That was super fun. Everyone was asked to wear white and pink. I wish more people had complied. I also wish I had more pictures but I forgot my camera had a dead battery and I forgot to ask Shannon for his copy of the pictures (which I JUST did). Paco and I played a lot of games, and he actually played pool for the first time ever. Yes, he’s 32 years old and has never played pool. Sadly, he plays just as good as me. Yes, I suck.

The rest of the week went by pretty well. We took a trip to Gruene TX to walk around a bit and had lunch at the Grist Mill. I love the Grist Mill, but I mad the mistake of varying from my usual and ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken. I’m super picky about my CFC. I like it breaded, NOT battered. Gross.

We did a lot of errands this week and spent a lot of time laying around, sleeping, watching movies, and just being lazy. We went to the Round Rock Outlet Mall and Ikea with Paco’s mom. At the Outlet Mall we walked by a baby clothing store and his mom told me that she already has a baby outfit in her closet and that we need to hurry up and have a baby. Um. Ok.

Friday we went to the new mall here in Austin, The Domain. It’s the new high style mall. Austin finally has a Louis Vuitton, Neiman Marcus, Lacoste, and some more high end lady stores. There wasn’t a lot of stores at the Domain that I would like, but it was pretty to walk through and a nice way to kill time. I would mind living at the apartments there, but I’m sure they are outrageously priced.

Later on that night we went to see the Lion King Broadway production at the Bass Concert Hall. I had bought tickets for me, Paco, and his mom and gave them to his mother for Christmas. We got a little dressed up and planned to have dinner some place nice before the show. Those plans didn’t quite work out. I forgot about it being Friday and during rush hour. We spent most of our time in traffic and had to eat at the Hyde Park Bar and Grill, which is still good but not what we were hoping for.

The show was ok. I’m not a fan of musicals and especially not Broadway, and this was both. However, I did manage to stay awake during all of it, unlike when I saw the Phantom of the Opera at the Bass Concert Hall. I did want to sleep, but I tried my best to stay awake. I just don’t get the attraction of this show. When it started and all the people were coming out in costumes the crowd went crazy, and when the big fake elephant came on stage it was sheer madness in there. I was stunned. Obviously those people have never seen puppets and costumes.

This crazy whore behind me felt the need to explain everything to her child, loudly. “The elephant is coming on stage now.” “See how the stage is lifting in the middle.” “He’s explaining something to the lion now.” “That’s the baby lion.” “There holding the baby lion up to the sky to show it to the other animals.” I thought I was going to lose my mind. On top of that, either she or the guy next to me was a stanky chain smoker. I couldn’t breathe! I was getting a headache.

Seriously. There should be non-smoker seating and smoker seating sections. I shouldn’t have to sit next to that kind of stank. Seriously! If you want to smoke, fine… it’s your business, but please carry around some Febreeze to spray yourself down before you go back to integrating with society. I know, I shouldn’t interact with the public… they annoy me too much, but I just don’t have a choice.

Saturday we washed our vehicles together. I hadn’t washed mine in probably two years. Paco always teases me about it. So we washed them and pretty much wasted away the whole day cleaning, vacuuming, and washing. Then Sunday it rained. Yes, it pays to wash your car I guess. At least my vehicle was parked in my carport all day so it wasn’t totally wasted.

I worked out today, and I totally kicked butt. I did one hour and twenty minutes of cardio and burned about 850 calories. Woot woot! I am determined to get back to working out. I need to get back into shape.

So that was my vacation and now it’s over.

Something to say?
