So Friday I didn’t work because I went to the dentist to get my wisdom teeth removed. I was actually looking forward to it. Paco drove me and waited for me. I went in at 7:30 and they gave me two oral sedatives. After about 30 minutes I wasn’t feeling much so he gave me another dose of sedatives and BAM I don’t remember much of anything from then on.
I vaguely remember opening my eyes at some point because I felt pain, but it wasn’t for long. I don’t remember leaving the dentist’s office. I don’t remember the drive home. I remember going through the drive through at the pharmacy, but really only remember giving Paco my wallet to pay for the prescription.
Later that afternoon (after much sleep) the pills wore off and I was sane again. I called Kristi to tell her how I was doing and she told me that we had already discusses all of this over text messages earlier in the day. I had to check my phone to verify because I didn’t remember any of that. Those pills were AWESOME.
Unlike a lot of people, I didn’t have any pain, swelling, or bruising. I’ve had a pretty much drama free removal. I was out and shopping Friday afternoon. Saturday I spent the day cleaning, drove to my parent’s house, went shopping, and then went to Tomas’ birthday party.
I couldn’t eat anything, nor did I want to, so I basically didn’t eat all weekend. At the birthday party I tried to eat some salad (because the menu only had meat dishes, no soup) but I wasn’t able to eat it. First of all, the salad was flavorless and what flavor it did have, was nasty, and secondly, it was just to hard to chew and keep from getting in the open holes in the corners of my mouth. I tried to eat some birthday cake as well, and it was easier, but the cake was kind of dry.
I did have fun at the party. I didn’t take many pics, but Javi did and he has yet to share them with me. PUNK.
Sunday I cleaned house, put away all the Christmas stuff, rearranged some stuff, and watched a lot of TV. Paco got off work early and we went downtown to look at the guitars on display around town. There are like thirty two 10ft guitars around town and we only ended up getting to take pictures of three of them. We saw a few more, but it was already dark so we didn’t get to photograph them. Hopefully we will be able to go back downtown this weekend and find some more. I printed out the list from the web of where they are all located.

My favorites so far (in order) are the Federico Achuleta guitar and the George Yepes.
Paco and I had a nice time walking around shopping and looking at the guitars. After it got dark we went to The Rio Grande for dinner. Last time we were there we had a bad waitress who messed up my order. This time we had some weird looking dude but at least he got my order right. Paco loves their sopa de tortilla. I like it a lot, but I’d like it more if it didn’t have onions in it. The enchiladas de queso were fantastic though. I was actually able to eat them without too much difficulty, so they were basically my first meal in two days.
Monday was back to work, and my first full week of work in a while. It’s going to be a LONG week. By the end of the day my jaw was sore, I guess all the talking irritated my wisdom teeth surgery. It’s Tuesday now and I still can’t really eat without it being super difficult. I also hate that I can feel the stitches on the inside of my mouth and it feels like there’s a hair stuck in there. GROSS. Both of them on the left side are starting to unravel so I can feel these longs pieces of thread dangling in my mouth at all times and the food gets caught in the stitching over the pockets where my teeth were. SO GROSS. I can’t wait until this is over.
I have a checkup at the doctor today. Woot woot. I want some new drugs.

If they could bottle the sedative without the crazy after-effects and sell it over the counter, I’d be in heaven.
