Not much has been going on with me. Work is finally slowing down, although not nearly as slow as it should be at this time of year. Usually this entire month is dead and we have lots of free time.

I’m so excited that I’m getting two new people at work! I’ll finally have enough people to do this job and hopefully things won’t be so stressful anymore. Although, it will be stressful for a while trying to train two new people at once. YIKES!

Christmas was fun. This was the best Christmas I’ve had in a long long long time. I guess it was better this year because I have Paco and it’s fun to have someone to buy expensive presents for and to spend the holidays with. It was really hard for me not to go crazy and just buy him a million presents. He was the easiest person to shop for and I had thousands of ideas.

It was killing me not to give them to him early too. I did break down and gave him the biggest (or best) present early. I had bought him the new 80g iPod Video. Friday he was complaining because he didn’t have enough room on his 4g iPod for all the music he wanted. The Saturday night he was saying he wanted to buy a new iPod, so I just decided to give it to him early.

I was really worried that he would be upset that I spent so much, but he wasn’t. He was thrilled. I’m a little jealous though, because now he has a better iPod than me! It will take him a long long time to fill up 80 gigs! I don’t see him using it for video all too much since there really isn’t that many Spanish language videos, movies, or TV shows that you can download on iTunes.

Sunday night we went to his family’s house to celebrate, have dinner, and open presents. The Mexican celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve night. His mother made a ham, pasta, corn, and some chicken mole (or as she said “more or less mole”). It was all delicious!

After dinner we opened the presents. Paco got me both of the jackets that I wanted from Express and the cologne that I had been wanting. I actually almost bought it myself this weekend but I decided to wait just in case he might have bought it for me. I had no reason to think he would because I had never hinted about it, but luckily… HE DID! He also got me a shirt that I wouldn’t necessarily have bought for myself, but I do really like it.

His brother got me the sweater I wanted from Express and his mother got me a really cool western Tommy Hilfiger shirt. Normally I would rather peel my own skin off than wear Tommy Hilfiger, but the shirt is very nice and it was a present so I love it!

I accidentally confused a present for his mother with a present for his friend, which was a little funny when she opened what was supposed to be a sweater and turned out to be a frame. Then we realized his friend must have gotten the sweater and never said anything. So Paco called his friend and apparently it was a really funny conversation, but I couldn’t catch all of it because he was talking so fast (in Spanish) and laughing. I know it was something about his friend was insulted and said something like “Does he think I’m Juan Gabriel?”

Because Paco’s mom and brother don’t drive, he was with them when they bought his Christmas presents. They all actually already knew what each other had bought for them. So I told Paco to at least fake surprised while open his presents. He was so funny and he totally over did it. You can tell from the pictures that we had a lot of fun. These are some of my favorite pictures from the night and the rest of them are here: http://www.tomithey.com/gallery/20061224

Sunday was Christmas with my family. My sister rode with Paco and I down there. We ate lunch and then opened presents. I got some fun stuff from my sister, including the “Inspi(RED)” shirt I wanted from the GAP. I got the Bluetooth headset I wanted for my phone from my parents and some other stuff, and I got a gift card from my older brother.

After we left their house, Paco and I went home and watched the second Pirates of the Caribbean movie and Superman. He had seen Superman before, but it was in the theater and not with the Spanish subtitles. He was so cute sitting on the couch getting all excited and into the movie. Then afterwards he was running around with his fist in the air pretending to fly. He’s a nut.

My sister got him some Superman boxers for Christmas and he says he’s not going to wear them until we go to New York. He already has a Superman belt buckle, hat, and shirt. Oh and she also got him a Superman piggy bank, which he proudly put on display in our bedroom along with the Wonder Woman piggy bank she gave me. :(

As soon as I get those pictures from my sister (because I forgot my camera), I’ll post them.

I was supposed to be off from work today but yesterday I realized I didn’t ask anyone to come in early for me and answer the phones, and I didn’t think anyone would think to come in early on their own. I knew I was going to have to come in a for a little while anyway because I needed to build some service kits to send out to some technicians for repairs this week.

After I left work I went to Traget. My older brother got me a gift card to Target and it was burning a hole in my pocket! I bought some jeans (I love Mossimo jeans), and iTunes gift card, and I got the drill that I wanted for Christmas that NOBODY got for me. I’m super excited about it! I already even used it to fix a door in my apartment. I got to use it to drill and to screw! Woot woot GOOD TIMES!

Oooh and this Thursday will mark seven months with Paco. SEVEN MONTHS!

Oh on the 16th I went to a birthday party for Maya. I just now copied the pics to my computer, so here are my favorites and the rest are http://www.tomithey.com/gallery/20061216. Watching Maya blow out her candles was hilarious. I’ve never seen someone’s cheeks puff out that much… and the poor thing still couldn’t blow them out.
