The best thing about this being Tuesday is that it means Monday is over.
I really really wanted to call in sick yesterday morning, but I talked myself out of it because for some crazy reason I thought it would be an ok day. I was WRONG. Monday was crazy busy and I had to spend the majority of the day doing MANUAL LABOR! I had to build service parts kits for our field technicians. I don’t mind it so much, but the problem is that we never have enough parts and then I have to decide what has to be sent and what we can do without. PRESSURE! After work I did some errands and came home to relax and forget about work.
This weekend was fun though, SUPER fun. Friday Paco and I went to dinner and I think we did a little shopping, but really I can’t remember because Saturday was so good. I started my day off by going in to work. Yep, fun times! No, actually it wasn’t so bad. I was by myself and I got a lot of stuff done, stuff that I would never be able to get done during a normal day because people are constantly bothering me with questions and problems.
After work I went home and chilled out until Paco got off of work and we went to eat at Manuel’s. I love that place. They have the best Mole and Sopa de Tortilla. After dinner I went out to Rainbow. I haven’t been in MONTHS, I think three months… actually it was October 7th, so almost exactly three months. Wow.
Anyway, it was funny because when I went my normal Rainbow group was standing near the bar with their mouths open in shock. After staring for what seemed like an eternity, Seth came over and asked if I was out because I was single again. No. Paco wanted to go to bed early, and I didn’t so I went out.
I had so much fun. I almost forgot how fun it was to be flirted with, checked out, and have random strangers grab my behind. All of my friends were out, which is super rare. I had so much fun hanging out with everyone, dancing, and of course… drinking. I was out of shape, but surprisingly I still held up pretty well on the dance floor. I think maybe it had to do with the fact that it wasn’t sauna hot in there. Thank GOD for cold weather. The air in that club never works well and it’s always hellishly hot in there in the summer.
Towards the end of the night I was hanging out, sitting on the pool table, with Harvey. There was this older guy totally staring at him with lust in his eyes. It was kind of funny at first because he was so blatant about it. But then it hit me… he didn’t know we weren’t together. We were sitting pretty close, we SO could have been a couple. That old man was straight up disrespecting me! He was flirting with my hypothetical boyfriend! Why are people so rude!?!?!
Seconds later I noticed I had my own dirty old man giving me the eyes. There was an older Hispanic cowboy burning a hole through me with his eyes. I even saw him point at me while he was talking to his friend, it was like he didn’t even care that I was watching him pointing at me and talking about me.
Sunday I slept in a bit and so did Paco, although I did wake up before him and start cleaning house and watching TV. When he woke up he decided we should go to San Antonio to shop. Ok. When we got outside he started to change his mind because it was really foggy and gross out. I learned that fog in Spanish is niebla.
We went to San Antonio anyway and we saw LOTS of accidents on the way, even one car rolled over on the highway. Traffic was stopped and backed up for miles. I thought for sure when we saw that accident (close to my home) he would decided to go back home, but no.
San Antonio was fun. We went to the La Cantera outdoor mall near Six Flags. It’s nice, but not very big. He bought himself a Ferrari Puma cap at the Puma store. He’s been wanting that for at least 6 or 7 months now. I couldn’t find anything I wanted for myself, or to buy for other people for Christmas. NOTHING. I haven’t really been in a shopping mood lately. I think I’m too tired from work.
After the shopping we went to Gruene for dinner at the Grist Mill. Paco loved it there and kept asking me why I hadn’t taken him before. I kept having to remind him that he’s usually not off on Sundays and he’s ALWAYS working. The only time he’s usually off during the day is Monday, and then I’m at work. We only ever get to hang out in the evenings.
Today I wanted to call in again. I hate getting out of bed when it’s cold. I had to talk myself into coming in because my boss and his boss’s boss are in town today (for the week) to settle some work stuff. It should be an interesting week. I have a work dinner with them tonight, and my team. Fun times.
