Tuesday night Michelle and I went to Eric’s house to celebrate Halloween and hand out candy to the children. I hadn’t really planned on handing out candy, I thought we’d watch a movie and just hang out while Eric handed out candy.
Well, Michelle and I ended up handing out candy for a little while to begin with, and then decided to scare the crap out of all the kids while handing out candy. That was the most fun I have had in ages. Eric’s house is already decorated kind of scary, so it wasn’t hard to add the little extra scream to scare them. We scared a bunch of kids and adults.
There was one time we heard these kids walking up the sidewalk whispering, “Please don’t scare us. Please don’t scare us.” So you know we had to scare them. I was hunched down behind the door cracking up as there were walking towards the door. All I had to do was leave the door a bit open, let it open more as they walked up, then slam it as the got close. SO EASY!
I scared a group of adults trick-or-treating without any kids. One of the ladies told me I was wrong for scaring people and I said, “You’re 35 years old and trick-or-treating, you deserve to be scared!”
This one lady came up to the door with her two little girls (who were about 5 or 6) and she was telling them over and over, “They eat little fat kids here.” Her little girls looked so scared, so I leaned down towards them and went, “MMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmm”. The bigger one backed up real quick. SO WRONG!
Nothing beats scaring kids. People kept stopping on his patio to take pictures in front of his house, and one time as these two girls had their backs to the door waiting for the picture to take, I snuck down behind them and scared the crap out of them. By the time I had left, I had a slight headache from screaming so much, but it was totally worth it.
I am shocked though at how many kids go around without costumes and still expect to be given candy. I did a lot of fake dropping into the bags. The odd thing is that the majority of kids without costumes were Asian. And what’s with all the teenagers going trick-or-treating? That is just wrong.
Wednesday night (last night) I didn’t do anything. I was super tired. I didn’t get out of work until late and I was just wanted to go home and nap. Tonight I’m going to take down my Halloween stuff and try to make the place look a little more fall/Thanks Giving like. I also need to rearrange some stuff in the closets to make more space.
I’m super excited about going to Mississippi and New Orleans this weekend with Paco. I’m thinking about not taking anything with me on the plane. It’s such a hassle to have to carry stuff around and go through security with bags. Paco says he wants to take a minimal amount of clothes, but I’m taking as much as I can. I like to have options. Plus I want extra space in case I decide to do some shopping.
