This weekend was pretty laid back. I decided it would be best to rest and relax this past weekend, since this coming weekend I will be going to Mexico, and the weekend after I will be going to New Orleans and Mississippi.

Friday night Paco and I watched a move, a Pedro Almodovar movie, and it was kind of lame. He was falling asleep during it, so he went to bed. I can’t even remember what I was doing before he came home at 8. I’m sure it was nothing interesting.

Saturday Xoch came over and I made brunch for us. We did some shopping at Target and HEB, and I actually managed to keep my spending under control. I only bought things that I needed. I spent the rest of the day on the couch watching TV.

Paco came home at 6 and went to his mother’s house for dinner. She wanted to cook dinner for my birthday. She made lasagna and garlic bread. I’m not normally a big fan of lasagna or spaghetti because I don’t care much for red sauce, but her lasagna was actually pretty good. Ok, but there was something slightly odd about it. I was eating it and I kept bitting into something crunchy. OMG. I was freaking out a little wondering what it was, but I kept quiet. A bit later she asked if I liked raisins and almonds, because that’s what she puts in her lasagna. STRANGE. Who does that? The raisins actually were pretty good in it, and the almonds weren’t that big of a deal. You couldn’t taste them, so it was really just all about the crunch. I’m not a fan of anything in the nut family, so I’d rather do without them.

His mother also got me a frame for my birthday. It’s a western themed frame, so it’ll go good in my bedroom. I need to try and get Paco to dress up all country and put his picture in it… not that I don’t already have enough pictures of him in the apartment.

I wanted to go out Saturday night, but ended up staying home talking to him about important relationship issues. Nothing bad, thankfully, but it was a bunch of stuff we needed to sort out.

Sunday I got up late and went to run an errand for him. He needed me to exchange some pants for him. I went to two different Express stores and couldn’t find his pants in his size. That was a lot of driving, I had to go to Lakeline Mall (which is WAY north) and then Barton Creek Mall (way south). The funny thing is that when I was at Barton Creek I stopped to look at the Spring Kiosk because I knew that next month I was going to be eligible for my phone upgrade.

As I was looking at phones, a salesboy came over and started hounding me. He looked up my account info and it turned out that I was already eligible for an upgrade. So YAYS for me, I bought a new phone! At first I had picked out this plain black flip phone, kind of like the one I already had, because it was only going to cost me $20. I wasn’t thrilled with it, but hey… it was cheap and functionable. They were getting it ready for me while I shopped, and then I went back and changed my mind and got this one instead:

I changed my mind because I was thinking about the last time I bought my phone. I really wanted the red model, but the salesguy talked me out of it because he said it would show scratches too easy. I have regretted not getting that phone ever since. So this time I decided to pay a little more and get the one I wanted most. I am SUPER happy with it. I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT.

Ok, so this is what sucks. They don’t have an official Sprint store at Barton Creek Mall, so I had to go to a Sprint store to get my numbers transferred and sell my old phone back. I knew there was a new one close to my apartment so I drove all the way back north to that one to get it done. Just my luck, that location was too new and hadn’t opened yet. So I went to the Sprint store in Lakeline Mall instead… yet more driving north. Unfortunately that location didn’t have any technicians on-site that could do the transfer. Seriously? How hard could it be?

I had to go to the location in the Arboretum, which means I just drove in a big circle around north Austin. I didn’t want to go to that location because there is always a long wait. Well, just my luck, that location didn’t have any technicians on-site either. Apparently the techs only work Monday through Friday. What a huge waste of time!

So last night I manually transferred all of my numbers while Paco played on the computer. I needed to delete a lot of old entries anyway. I transfered all of my pictures as well. All I need now is to transfer some old text messages that I want to keep, and my ringtones. Can they transfer those? I’m going to be so pissed if they can’t! I have some awesome ringers!

I guess I’ll go get all of that done after work today.

Something to say?
