Yesterday was my birthday! I left work at 2 and went home and really didn’t do anything. When I walked in the door I went right into the kitchen and was putting stuff away, then as I walked into the living room and I noticed he had bought me flowers and a balloon and had put my presents on the table! I’m surprised I didn’t notice that the instant I walked in the door.
I thought Paco would be home at 3 and we could go shopping but he was a bit late. He got home at 3:30 and I opened my presents. He got me some Puma sneakers, a sweater vest that I have been wanting, and a Puma t-shirt. Before I had opened my presents I had no idea what I wanted to wear to my dinner. After opening them I knew exactly what I wanted, and since we didn’t head out until 4:30, we didn’t have much time to shop anyway. We went to Express in the Arboretum and I bought a yellow t-shirt to go with my shoes.
We were supposed to pick up Gina, then my sister, and then head to dinner, but Gina canceled. Her mom couldn’t watch the kids anymore. So we went to pick up my sister and headed out. We got to El Chile like right at 7 and Tomas Javier was already there.
Almost everyone showed up, only Gina and Sam were no shows, but they had bother already told me, so it was cool. Dinner was fun. We were all shocked that my older brother (Richard) showed up because he never shows up for anything.
There are some of the photos, all of them are located at http://www.tomithey.com/gallery/20061018. Some of the photos are blurry and bad, but whatever! I included them all anyway. I had passed the camera around the table, so I can’t be responsible for all the photos. There were many people taking pics and some of them had been drinking.
At the end of the night the waiter brought me some birthday flan with a candle in it. What’s funny is that he charged us for it. Dustin went and complained to the waiter about it and then got sent to the manager, after a little talking he went and got all ghetto on the manager, talking about “They wouldn’t charge me for birthday flan down at VIVO!” Yeah, so we got the flan for free… $2.50 for FREE! Good times!
I had a great time at dinner and my birthday was a blast, definitely one of the best days of my year so far. Of course, now everything is back to normal, which is just ok. ![]()
