So yesterday I worked on this card for my friend at work. She gave me this original card. It’s for her friend’s birthday. She is sending her friend a garden gnome and some dragon fly lights for her new garden patio. She wanted me to take this card and add some gnomes, kind of hidden, like Where’s Waldo, and add some dragon flies. She’s been friends with this chick for years, but has never seen a picture of her. They met because the woman called in with questions about a product and then they got to talking and just became friends over the years. This woman refuses to send my friend a picture (which is why this card was so perfect), but they write frequently, send gifts, and talk on the phone all the time.
I didn’t like the card. I loved the little girl, but the card was ugly. So I did this with it. It’s ok… good for what I was given to work with and for what was wanted, but it’s just OK. I sent it to Mary to approve and she called me crying saying it was perfect and that she wished I could have seen her face when she opened it because it’s exactly what she wanted and just so perfect.

This is the announcement I made for Gina. You can’t tell from this pic, but it’s actually 5 separate pieces. The brown card stock, then the white border with the photo of the baby glued on top of that, then the bear’s face tucked under the white border, and the bear paws on top of everything.
