A month or so ago I made a photo album for my boyfriend. He had been saying he wanted an album with pictures of us. I had wanted to make him a nice album myself, like making it totally from scratch and building it myself… basically a scrapbook style photo album. However, he was talking about it so much that I figured I had to get him something to hold him over until I could make it, so that he wouldn’t buy one himself.
Ok, so anyways… I bought him one and put all the pics in it. Then he left it in the trunk of his car in this hellish Texas heat and the pages melted. The pictures were fine, but the plastic all melted. Yesterday I decided to make him one from scratch again. I had the afternoon off, he was working, so I decided it was the perfect time to work on it.
I went to Hobby Lobby to find some materials and was totally out of luck. I was looking for a spiral hole punch, which I now realize would probably have been really more than I would have wanted to spend. I went over to Office Depot and again, was out of luck. My bad luck was only making me more determined, so I pressed on.
I went to Michael’s and still couldn’t find the hole punch, so I decided to go another route. I ended up spending $36 at Michaels on stuff to make this album, and still didn’t have everything I needed. Yeah… I know! $36 on a photo album? I could have bought a really nice one already made for less than that. I’ve never even done this before, so I don’t even know what I am doing and this could all just end up being a waste of money.
I stopped at Target next, because they have good scrap booking stuff. I bought a few little things and then went home to begin working. OMG it is so much work. I decided to make this scrapbook photo album 25 pages, enough for 50 photos. That is plenty enough since the pictures are only going to be of me and him. I worked on it for two hours and all I was able to accomplish was cutting 25 pages, making the covers, and hole punching about 6 pages.
I worked on this while watching On a Clear Day. That was a good movie. I expected it to be full of old people and not so pretty to look at, but still a good movie. Well, I was pleasantly surprised to see a hottie! Jamie Sives is adorable! I had no idea who he was before this movie, but now I love him. His part in the movie is as a stay at home daddy, so he’s always with his kids and it’s just too adorable. I love him! I’ve added another movie of his to my queue, Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself.
I am so glad it’s Friday! I need to clean this weekend and do some organizing.
