The past four days have been fun. Being off from work for four days in a row is awesome! I don’t really remember what was going on each day, it all seems like a blur now. I spent a lot of time with Francisco watching movies and just hanging out.
Saturday M.Lo, J.Lo, and I went to down to my parent’s house to go tubing… but we didn’t end up getting in any water. It wasn’t really warm enough to get in the river. That water is super frigid and it’s not any fun unless it’s hot out. We just hung out at the ranch checking out the Alpacas. My mom discovered that one of them had blood on it’s mouth. His name is JC, which I’m convinced is Jesus Christ. Anyway, he had cut his lip on something and there was a 2 inch while slit in his lips. Euuwww… it was nasty looking.
They had to call the emergency vet number and take him in to get checked out. M.Lo, being the sick-o that she is, wanted to go watch. So we all packed up and went to the vet to watch this animal get it’s lip checked out. I don’t know how I watched it then, because it’s making me a little queezy looking at the pictures again now. It turned out that he didn’t need stitches, only staples.
We were all crowded in a small room with the door closed. My mom, dad, and brother were trying to hold JC still while the vet guy cleaned his cut, shaved his lip, and then stapled him. You can see in some of the videos where JC jumps up and I had to turn off the camera and run for safety. Those animals have FIERCE nails and they kick hard, oh and they SPIT. No way was I going to get any of that action coming my way. It ended up being a lot less dramatic than I thought it would.

Saturday night J.Lo, M.Lo, Francisco and I went to dinner at Korea house and M.Lo tried to eat all the food in the place. I’ve never seen someone put away so much food. She’s like that freaky Japanese girl that wins the hot dog eating contests. SCARY.
Saturday night I went out to Rainbow and danced a bunch. I wasn’t in the best of moods, but I danced anyway. ‘Nough said about that. Habi-Air came home with me because I was not feeling well and he was concerned.
Sunday I drove Habi-Air home and we stopped for some lunch at Los Comales. I love eating there because they always have the best juices, like Tamarindo, Horchata, Melon, Sundia, and Guayaba. Habi-Air and I were laughing at how ethnic it was in there. They had all of the stereotypical Mexican decorations including the fancy shiny tin foil papel picado.
Sunday afternoon I hung out with Francisco and we watched Napoleon Dynamite with the Spanish subtitles. Those subtitles really don’t do the movie any justice. You just can’t translate some of that humor.
Monday Francisco and I did a little shopping and went to the movies to see Superman Returns. He’s a big fan. He had come over to my place earlier in the week wearing a Superman t-shirt and baseball cap. My sister met up with us at the theater. We spent most of the movie cracking jokes about it and talking about how GAY Superman looked. Oh, and how Loise Lane was indestructible. She got knocked all over a plane cabin and then got up like nothing happened. She got hit in the head with a steal door on a boat and nearly drowned, then just walked it off. You couldn’t keep her down! I think she was trying to be a little Superwoman.
I bought an awesome plant at Smith and Hawken and two vases on clearance. I was totally excited. The plant is freaky cool! It’s a Dischidia Pectinoides, and it’s growing out of a snail shell. The shell was what totally sold me on the plant. I had to have it.
These aren’t pics of mine, but they are still cool. I hope I can keep it alive because he wasn’t cheap and it’s SO cute. It has balloon shaped leaves and little purple flowers.
Monday night we watched Plata Quemada, a film from Argentina. Wow… the men in this movie are CRAZY hot. It’s a true story about these four guys that rob an armored truck and then have to go on the run, so they hideout in Uruguay. Two of the guys are gay and a couple, and the story is mostly about their relationship. It’s an interesting movie, and definitely worth it just for the eye candy.
Tuesday was supposed to be a fun day, but it rained so much and it was nasty out, so Francisco and I stayed in my apartment and downloaded music, chatted, studied English and Spanish, and watched TV. We were supposed to go to my sister’s place with M.Lo, J.Lo, and Habi-Air, but everyone else canceled, and since it was raining like end of the world style, we just stayed at my place and hung out.
Today was crazy busy at work and I have had a little bit of a migraine since lunch time. I keep getting a little dizzy, my eyes water off an on, and I have a dull headache. I need a hot shower. I worked my butt of today. I worked from 7am to 6pm without breaks or a lunch. Tomorrow shouldn’t be as busy, but still… I have a lot to do. I have two people out on vacation and I have to finish all my end of the month billing, credits, adjustments, and statistics… plus I have to do my bi-annual reimbursements to the OUS subsidiaries. Ugh… it’s so much work!
Tonight I continued being busy. I did a little shopping at Target for some food and organizers for my kitchen and bathroom drawers. I got on this organization kick this past week and started cleaning stuff out and throwing away junk I don’t need. I organized all my drawers and I’m amazed at how much stuff I through away, and stuff that I forgot I had. I’m always looking for scissors and I ended up finding six different sized in my kitchen drawer. How did I not know those were in there?
Spending six days straight with Francisco did wonders for my Spanish. I am certain in two more months I’ll be able to carry on conversations. I’m glad I’m learning from him and I’m getting real Spanish and not Tex-Mex. Of course all of my friends have different dialects of Spanish, so I’m sure there will still be some confusion. All of them say that they have a hard time understanding Francisco sometimes because he speaks so fast and his dialect is different.
Ok, I need to go shower now. I need to make this headache go away.
OH! Is anyone else watching So You Think You Can Dance? What was up with the judges tonight? They were way off. The disco routine STUNK! Travis was awesome and so was the hip-hop routine at the end. Benji is definitely NOT manly. Krumping is dumb and should not be considered a legitimate dance style. And as usual, I hate contemporary dance.
