I had a great weekend, busy, but great. I spent a lot of time last week trying to figure out what I was going to wear out on Saturday. I had decided I wanted to go for a “hunter” kind of look. I was going to wear a camouflage shirt and a bright orange ball cap. I know, the camo and the orange kind of contradict each other, but trust… it would have been hot.

I had gone shopping once already and couldn’t find the camo shirt. So I had a back up plan. If I couldn’t do hunter, then I was going to do rockabilly. I have one rockabilly shirt at home already, but it’s SUPER tight and well… I don’t even know if I really fit into it anymore. Friday night M.Lo and I went shopping. I thought we were going shopping for ME, but it turned out we were really going shopping for HER.

That girl was on a mission to buy some happiness. Sadly, both of us left the mall unfulfilled. She did find two amazing outfits though. She got this one at Bebe that is out of control sexy. The problem was that she couldn’t find any shoes to go with them. She wanted this one pair that had a clear plastic heel, but NO. Only strippers wear clear plastic shoes, and although I normally love stripper shoes, I could not cosign on these. The plastic was hazy and cheap looking. Yes, cheap even for PLASTIC.

I however, did not find ANYTHING to wear. I was distraught. Never has the mall left me so disappointed and sad. M.Lo wanted me to buy a shirt we saw at Nordstrom, and it was cute, but not what I was wanting. I saw a shirt at The Buckle that I liked but M.Lo made the stankiest face when I showed it to her and begged me not buy it. You see, this shirt would not have fit with my hunter look or my rockabilly look, but it was SO trucker trash.

That’s when I kind of made up my mind that I would have to decide on a different look for Saturday night, and I was really wanting that shirt from The Buckle. After all that shopping I was HUNGRY. We had been shopping for 4 hours! I needed food BAD, so we went to El Mercado for dinner. Well, I ate, she just drank. She said she wasn’t hungry. I told our waitress that M.Lo had been bad all day and I wasn’t letting her have food.

Saturday I got up early and went shopping again. I hit a few shops downtown to see if I could find anything I liked and was unsuccessful. I decided to go with the trucker trash look and go back to The Buckle to get that shirt M.Lo hated. It was even uglier than I had remembered, but I still bought it. I knew I could make it work.

Brenna called me and I told her what I was planning on wearing and she said, “Well you seem to be able to wear things that normal human beings should never wear.” That was the support I needed to hear. I was starting to wonder if I had made a mistake and if I could really pull this off. I have worn worse, what’s the big deal right?

I needed a trucker cap to go with the shirt. I found one at Target that was blue corduroy with a net back and the International truck logo on the front. AWESOME. It couldn’t have worked out better!

After the shopping I went to get my haircut, then after the haircut I went to pick up Ryan to go to Dustin’s party. I had a great time at the party, and we spent about 4 and a half hours there just eating, drinking, chatting, playing games and taking pictures. My team won at Catch Phrase TWICE! We WON! We beat Dustin at his game in his OWN house. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

All of the pictures are posted here, but these are some of my favorites. You can click them to make them larger.

After leaving Dustin’s, I dropped of Ryan at his place and went to meet M.Lo for drinks at Maudie’s Milagro. I had been running around since 10am, and by the time I left Maudie’s it was 9:15pm. I had to rush home to shower and change and head back out to Rainbow. Once I put on my trucker trash outfit I was 100% that I had made the right decision. I LOVED it. My farmer’s tan worked well with the look.

I nailed the look so perfectly, that one of my friend’s didn’t even recognize me. Another told me that it was totally not me and that he wouldn’t ever picture me wearing it. Two of my friends also told me that I looked like a trucker, without me even mentioning that it was the look I was going trying to achieve. I don’t really care if nobody like it, or thought it was hot. As long as I nailed the look and I enjoyed it, that’s all that matters.

Will and Delia came out and I had a great time hanging out with them. I wish Ryan had come out with us, but he wussed out on me… AGAIN.

Sunday I woke up extra late. I had managed to not get to sleep until 4:30am, so I had to sleep my full 8 (and a half) hours. I didn’t get out of bed until almost 1. I did some laundry, cleaned up a bit, baked some cookies, watched a movie. OMG I watched the BEST movie. It’s called Central do Brasil (Central Station). It was horrible sad and disturbing for most of it, but it ended so sweet and perfectly. AMAZING movie and I highly recommend it. Watch it NOW!

Javi came over later and we got some food from the Boat House Grill and watched the shows together. Desperate Housewives and Grey’s Anatomy weren’t as scandalous as I would have preferred, but I did enjoy them. I can’t believe DH ended on such a sad note. That is not cool. That show is not supposed to be sad. However, I must say that I love George’s new haircut on GA.

Well, so yeah… that was my weekend.
