Part Boy

Posted by Tomithey on May 29th, 2006

After brunch, Habi came up for a while and we watched TransAmerica. I had just got in from Netflix and was saving it for the right time. That movie was SO good. It was WAY better than Brokeback Mountain. Felicity Huffman did an AWESOME job! After the movie, and after Habi left, I went shopping for a bit. I bought a new shirt to go with my new head. I trying to work the tough bald guy look.

SHAVED

So today I haven’t done much. I watched Something New on DVD. It was really cute, predictable, but cute. The previews made it out to be more of a comedy, but it wasn’t. It was still pretty funny in parts, but it was definitely a lot slower and more of a romance.

Tom vs the Cafeteria

Posted by Tomithey on May 24th, 2006

I have been up in arms for the past few weeks because the cafeteria hasn’t had any seasoned curly fries. They have regular fries and curly fries with no seasonings. Um, isn’t that the same thing with different shapes? RUDE. Felix, the cook, told me that they will no longer be […]

It’s almost over

Monday night was lame. We went to work out, and did cardio only. Our excuse was that we were “easing back into working out.” We can always find excuses for laziness. I did laundry and watched television after that. Nothing too exciting going on in my life.
Last night was game night. […]

It’s been a while

Friday was kind of tame as well. Ryan came over and we celebrated his graduation from the University of Texas. He didn’t feel like going out, so we just hung out at my place having drinks and watching movies. We watched Nico and Dani, and it was pretty good. A little shocking at times and reminded me a lot of Y Tu Mama Tambien.

Dorek McCrowsFeet

So I watched Grey’s Anatomy Sunday night. It was good for a season finale, I guess. I’m just surprised it did not end with more cliff hangers. The only things left unknown were if Izzie is really going to quit, and if Meredith will go back to Dorek McCrowsFeet or stay with the vet, Dr. Fin (Chris O’Donnell). And it’s not like we all don’t know she’s going back to McCrowsFeet… natch. I also think it’s funny that the Chief got called out twice on his affair in the same episode.

Drama TV

I finally watched Capote, which I’ve had from Netflix for about three weeks now. I liked it a lot. His voice bothered me and I thought I would get used to it, but I never did. What was shocking was watching the special features and hearing the real Truman’s voice and it was even worse. By the end of the movie I still couldn’t decide if I like Truman or not. He was kind of shady and manipulative, but he was also really nice in some ways. I don’t know, I have very mixed feelings about the man. He did seem like a fascinating person. I really want to read his book, In Cold Blood now. I was disappointed that he didn’t rename that book after Perry objected to the name. I thought maybe he’d change it to something a little less brutal. That was just a bizarre movie.

Tonight I’m going to a Pampered Chef (NATCH) party at Gina’s. I’m sure it will be a great time though, because all of the people going are fun. We’re going to have beers, make burritos, and just hang out. I’m even thinking of going out to RCC afterward. I think I need two nights of dancing this week. I’m in a great mood so far today. I really hope it lasts!

Memoirs of Tom

Last night I chilled out, I didn’t do anything. I watched Memoirs of a Geisha, which pretty much took all night. I loved it, and it was much better than I had expected. It totally made me miss living in Japan and made me want to go back to visit. Japan is so beautiful! The only thing that disappointed me about the movie was that I thought they were going to show more of her being a geisha. I wanted more scenes with her all dressed up and dancing. Oh well… pity.

Precious Moments

We watched Last Holiday after AI. It was a cute movie, but not nearly as funny as I would have expected. I still liked it, but it was more sugary sweet and predictable than I normally like. They really did not us Queen Latifah to her full comedic potential. I really wanted to see her sing too.
