Wow, I had a crazy weekend. It was a ton of fun, but super busy. I didn’t get to watch any of my Netflix DVDs and I still have Jesse’ DVD of the David Chapelle show that I need to watch.
Friday night I hung out with Ryan. We went to Target and got stuff to straighten his hair and some snacks. Ryan thought I was disgusting for eating a sprinkle sandwich. I just don’t understand how people can’t realize how tasty that is! We did his hair and we watched The Sweetest Thing, which I’ve seen about a million times, but I still love it.
Saturday I went to lunch with Javi at um… I forgot the name of it… that new burger place on South Congress that used to be a mechanic shop. It was pretty good food. I had the chicken fingers and usually I don’t like batter fried chicken fingers, but these were good. I think when you sell chicken fingers you should put on the menu whether they are batter fried or breaded.
We went shopping all down South Congress after lunch and I was not able to find anything that I wanted. I was really looking for something to wear out, and I was looking for something specific, but couldn’t figure out what it was. I’d know it if I saw it, but I couldn’t explain it to anyone. While we were at New Bohemia / Parts & Labor I noticed this guy talking to the cashier. I don’t know why I noticed him, I guess because he was energetic and chatty, and I liked his hat. (more on that later)
After shopping I went home and took a nap. I was cranky. I was also upset that I couldn’t find anything to wear. While I was napping I got the bright idea to make another shirt. I actually made two shirts. One of them says “Puro Malo” (which mean Pure Bad) and has a picture of a pitchfork on it. I didn’t like the way it came out because I should have used a better quality t-shirt. I didn’t notice how thin the material was until I put it on. That’s going to have to be a shirt for when I’m bumming around.
The other shirt I made reads, “Bandido”, which Ivan once told me that can sometimes be used as slang to mean something like a “player”. Obviously the literal translation is “bandit”. Bandido is also the name of one of my favorite cumbias by Ana Barbara, which is how I got the idea. Anyway, that shirt came out cute, so I wore it out.
I picked up Javi and then we went to get Ryan and went over to Changos for drinks an dinner. I am hooked on their nachos, and their Sangria is pretty darn good too. Unfortunately Ivan wasn’t working, so I didn’t get to chat with him. But there was this cute boy working the register, not entirely my type, but still cute… someone else likes him a lot though.
After dinner we went to Rainbow for some boot scootin’. Dustin and Doug were out and they are just the cutest couple. There was a lot of out of towners out again. Dustin pointed out this cute boy (wearing green and white stripes) to Ryan and us. Ryan couldn’t figure out where the guy was so we kept trying to point him out. Then he noticed us checking him out and we still kept pointing at him and staring. I was like, “RYAN! He’s the guy right there in the green and white striped shirt, staring at us staring at him, as we are clearly talking about him.” Then Dustin turned all the way around to look at him. We were so busted. (more on that later)
DJ TJ played all my favorite songs and he played Bandido because of my shirt. I had a great time dancing even though it seemed like I didn’t dance as much as I usually do. I was trying to balance dancing and hanging out with Ryan and Javi, which is not easy. I do love to dance and I do love to socialize with my friends.
We left Rainbow at 12 and went over to Cedar Street to meet up with my coworker (Jesse) and his woman, who were out celebrating their one year anniversary. Unfortunately, we got there too late and they were just leaving. We chatted for a bit outside Cedar Street, and then they went home and we went over to Rain. Jesse’s girlfriend is seriously the cutest.
I wasn’t happy about being at Rain at first. I would rather have been at Rainbow, but whatever. Javi and I went to dance and I ended up having a good time on the dance floor. I danced with him and Ryan for a while, and then some by myself. While I was dancing by myself and checking out the crowd, I saw this really cute guy looking my direction. So of course I started turning on the charm. He kept watching and I kept smiling at him and then I went over to get him and brought him to the dance floor to dance with me. He told me his name and I remember instantly thinking of someone else who has the same exact name.
He had to leave early and so I let him go away. We kept looking at each other as he was leaving, and I just let him go, but then decided I didn’t want him to be gone, so I ran after him. I got his number and dialed it on my phone so he would have mine. Unfortunately, I did not save his name on the phone with the number, and I am HORRIBLE at remembering names. So yeah… not long after he was gone, so was his name. SHAMEFUL.
Ryan, Javi, and I went out to the patio for a bit, but the smoke was bothering me, and I wanted to dance, so I went back in and asked this beautiful straight Black woman to dance with me. I do remember her name, because I had to ask her twice for it because I wasn’t sure I had heard it right. I had so much fun dancing with her.
We left shortly after that because I think the boys (Ryan and Javi) were smashed and tired. Javi and I got into a little fight in the street on the way to the car, but since we already made up, I won’t talk about it. It’s over and it’s done, time to let it go.
I checked my email when I got home and I had a message in my Myspace inbox from the guy in the black driver’s cap that I had seen out at Parts & Labor. He sent me “where you shopping at new bohemia today? i was the guy with the black golf cap. i was writing a friend of mine an email and saw you on his comments space and recognized you. anyways, i thought you were cute, and also thought id let you know. ” How exciting and how bizarre that I happened to have noticed him as well?
Sunday I had to get up too early (10:30am) to go pick up my sister’s dog at the doggy daycare and take her home. I checked my email and I had another message in my Myspace from someone I had seen out. It was the guy at Rainbow that we were all staring at. He wrote, “instead of staring at me and then talking about me you should have just came over and said somthin.LOL Oh and makin your freind turn all the way around jsut to see me so plain as day, caught ya on that one. LOL its all cool though i havent had that much fun in a gay bar in a very long time ” I don’t know how he found me. He’s not even from Austin and he told me in later emails that he doesn’t have friends here either. I should just ask him. He is cute!
I did a little shopping while I was out and I bought two books (Como Aqua Para Chocolate and La Casa de los Espiritus). I started reading La Casa first, but I haven’t made it too far. Leander took me to lunch (a late lunch) at the Texican and we ended up spending about four hours together just hanging out and chatting. It had been a long time since we had hung out. Oh I took pics, but I need to weed out the ones that didn’t come out so I can post them.
Sunday night I just hung around the apartment and watched my shows. I was so tired so I went to bed as soon as Grey’s Anatomy was over.
