I’m stuck at work right now, working the late shift until 6pm. I’m basically just here babysitting Jesse. That sounds kind of harsh, but that’s what it is. I can’t leave him alone yet because he’s not fully trained. Someone needs to be here if he has questions, and we’re all taking turns working the late shift. Sucks! I should have planned better and came in at 9, instead of 7… and I worked through lunch. Jesse is fun though, so I don’t so much mind being here.
Last night I didn’t do much. I just watched TV and lounged around. I was incredibly tired. OH! There’s this song that I have been hearing on the Spanish station that I love. I’ve been bugging my friends (mostly Javi) to try to figure out what it was and who sings it. I’ve been non-stop bugging poor Javi for days, leaving it on his voicemail, sending him emails, sending him text messages, and harassing him in person.
None of my friends could figure it out. Then I realized this lady at work might know it. She’s totally Tejano! You can just look at her and KNOW she loves the cumbia. So I played a little bit for her (that I recorded on my phone) and she knew it immediately. YAYS for me! So last night I downloaded it and a bunch of other music. I loves new music, it’s like crack… not that I would know what crack is like because I’ve honestly never done an illegal drug in my life. That’s right, polish this halo fool!
I had a mega soar throat last night. It felt like I eating glass everytime I swallowed. Then after like 5 breaths my throat would dry up and I would choke. OMG thank GOD for Ambien or I would never have been able to sleep through the pain. I even busted out my humidifier, thinking that would help. It didn’t.
This morning it was even worse and I really wanted to call in sick, but I’m already taking a half day on Friday. SUCK. So I came to work and nearly died every time I sneezed or coughed. OH THE PAIN. It seemed to go away for the most part by lunch time. The only upside to this soar throat is it makes my voice all deep and sexy. It’s almost worth it.
Tonight is our game night, except we are going to see a movie instead of playing games. We’re going to go see A Date Movie, which looks like it’s going to suck hardcore, but whatever… I’m sure I’ll get a few good laughs out of it.
PS: After I told Javi what the song was called and who sang it, he was all, “Oh yeah… I heard that a while ago and was surprised it was the Kumbia Kings.” I should have cut him in the neck.
