Friday I left work 30 minutes early to go home and start preparing for my evening. Dale and Micki had gotten me all worked up saying that I wasn’t going to have enough time to do everything by 7:30. I started getting worried that they may be right, so I left early. Darn them for making me doubt myself!

I went to get the groceries and the alcohol and rushed home to start preparing everything. I made the cakes first. I made four individual cakes, one for each of us. I made my own glaze with powedered sugar, butter, a little water, and food coloring. I was going to do several different colors and paint them on, but I decided that I couldn’t waste that much time.

Next, I made the shrimp cocktails, which consisted of baby shrimp chopped into four pieces, avacado chopped into same size pieces, a little bit of diced onions, and some marinara sauce, served in a margarita glass.

After that I started on the Caesar dressing, which I kind of messed up on. I forgot to add the main ingredient! I kept wondering why it tasted so strong, and then realized I forgot to add a cup of olive oil. Ha! Anyways, I think I fixed it pretty well… at least I liked the way it tasted! Now onto to the main course, which was a baked Tilapia with Fettucini Alfredo, because Dustin is allergic to chicken.

I don’t do fish, shrimp, or avacado, but this dinner was more for them than me, so I didn’t care. I was definitely willing to try the Tilapia though. I figured if I didn’t like it, I could fill up on the Fettucini and salad instead.

I took a shower and changed around 6pm, and rushed as fast as I could. B.S. came over a little early and he made the garlic bread for me. He was just standing around, so I put him to work. I was still kind of worried that I was going to run out of time. I worked on making the Guayaba Martinis before he arrived, so I had already started drinking a little to relax.

I actually finished everything early and we had to just stand around and wait for Dustin and Doug to show up. The dinner turned out great! I actually really liked the Tilapia and it went well with the Fettucini. Doug and B.S. loved the shrimp cocktails, but Dustin didn’t eat one because he doesn’t do shrimp either. Doug ended up eating his and Dustin’s. Doug also had two helpings of the Fettucini. That’s always a nice compliment when people want second helpings.

Dessert was delicious as well. The glaze and fruit was just enough to sweet to make it perfect. I’m not a big fan of icing or things that are too sweet, so it was perfect for me. Plus, the individual cakes were just so cute!

We spent the rest of the evening drinking and chatting, and someone (maybe me) drank a little too much. Luckily it didn’t hit me too hard until after everyone had left, then I just passed out.

Saturday I got up late, a little hungover, and watched some DVDs. I watched both versions of Shall We Dance?. I watched the original Japanese version first, then the American. The Japanese version was amazingly better than the American one. The American version cut out so much that you really needed to see to understand the characters. They really butchered the movie. The Japanese version had better pacing, character development, and was more emotional. The American version was just too rushed and cheesy, they added so much stuff that was worthless and cut the good stuff. Americans screw everything up.

Saturday evening I went to dinner with B.S. at Baby Alcupulco. After dinner he dropped me off at home and I watched a little bit of a movie then got ready to meet up with M.Lo. We went to Manuel’s for cocktails and so she could get a little food. Afterward, we went down to RCC for dancing. I had a great time.

I got to dance a lot with Harvey. He’s definitely one of my favorites because he dances very sexy and sensual, plus he really knows how to Cumbia.

M.Lo got a phone call around 11ish (?) and decided she wanted to ditch on me and go hang out with other friends. I knew she’d get bored of RCC, so I was cool with it, but she wanted me to take her home and I was not cool with that. After some arguing and pleading, I gave her the keys to my SUV and sent her on her way. I figured I’d get a ride home with someone or take a cab. B.S. actually ended up offering me a ride home.

Dustin and Doug showed up and I got to dance a bunch with Dustin, he’s quickly becoming one of my other favorite dance partners. Doug had worn this leather jacket in, and it was hot in there, so he went to check his coat. I had checked mine earlier. He was talking to the coat check/doorman guy for a bit then came back with the jacket. Apparently the coat check room was full, or the guy wouldn’t take it, or something.

So then Dustin went to try for Doug and he too got refused. He came back saying how rude the doorman was and how the room was full, blah blah blah. So I offered to try. I just walked up to the doorman, offered up the coat, smiled, shrugged my shoulders, and he asked, “Is this yours?” I smiled and shrugged again, he smiled back and took the coat and checked it. SNAPS for me!

Sunday I got up really late (1:45pm) and M.Lo brought my SUV back over. We went to get lunch and then Javi came over and we watched March of the Penguins and Brokeback Mountain.

I took M.Lo home during Desperate Housewives (and left it recording), then Javi and I came back and watched Grey’s Anatomy and Desperate Housewives. Both of them were pretty good, a little scandalous, like I them.

So that was my weekend. Fun times.
