Last night I went straight from work to the Arboretum to meet up with Lynn. We had plans to go to see North Country, but the movie was showing late, so we had to wander around the mall area and shop for a while.
We stopped in at The Pottery Barn and chatted with Jorge for awhile. They don’t have their Christmas trees out yet, so I’m going to have to go back and see those later. Jorge does all the decorating in there and he does beautiful trees, so I want to go back to see them. I wasn’t too excited about the decorations they did have out. I’m going to need to go over to Smith and Hawken to get a few more things for this year.
Lynn and I stopped at Chick-Fil-A to get some food and we saw a sign that said they were hiring at $9 an hour. We were laughing at the fact that they pay $2 more an hour than Pottery Barn. How sad is that? Now if you get free chicken in addition to that extra money, then that’s a deal that can’t be beat… not to mention you get Sundays off!
Ok, so then we went to watch North County. When we walked up to the window to order the tickets I asked for two. Mr Cashier mumbled out the price, “Mumble.50″. I asked him to repeat it and the jerk turned off the mic and I didn’t hear anything, but I did see his lips moving. I can’t read lips! So I said again, “I STILL didn’t hear you.” Then we just stood there staring at each other, waiting….
Finally I slid some cash under the window and then he says, “I said $16.50″. Well hello jerk, I was asking you how much! So I gave him my debit card and cursed him under my breath. Why is everyone so incompetent these days?
The movie was pretty good, and not nearly as cheesy as I thought it would be. It wasn’t depressing either. I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t more of the courtroom scenes. I wanted to see the mining company lose in court. The movie was more about what led up to her lawsuit, than the lawsuit. I guess I wasn’t expecting that.
Tonight I have to watch last nights episodes of Joey, Will & Grace, and The Apprentice. I also have three movies I need to watch this weekend. I may have to lower my Netflix down to two at a time because I’m not able to watch as many now that I have bowling and my TV shows back.
