This weekend I went a bit crazy and partied like I was 21 again. I’m surprised that I’m not more tired or hurting this morning. Friday night I met up with M.Lo and we went to Chili’s to have dinner. Her straight friend J met up with us, we had a few drinks and that’s about when things started to get interesting.
I’ve only hung out once before with J and we got along great. He got drunk and became my new best friend for the night. Friday night was a little more intense. The more we drank, the friendlier we got.
Next on our tour of Austin nightlife was Vicci. We hung out there for a bit dancing, or at least M.Lo and I danced, J just stood around watching. We stopped in at Rainbow for a bit and danced some more.
At RCC I danced with J a little, M.Lo, and my friends that were already there. Then as we were leaving J picked me up and tried to carry me out, which was entirely too embarassing, so I had to yell at him to put me down.
We went to Fabric to do some booty dancing. We danced for a bit, then ran over to Oil Can Harry’s. From this point on, things got crazier and crazier and I’m not posting all of that on the net. We all had a great time, but had too many drinks. We all got to our seperate homes safely, and that’s all that matter.
Saturday I tried to sleep in, but there were twenty-something Mexicans doing Riverdance on my roof. The apartment complex is having the roof re-shingled and they decided to start work at like 7AM! It was deafening. There was banging, hammering, stomping, and I swear some jumping going on up there. Plus, there was a huge air compressor outside my window (on the 1st floor, of course) making a ton of noise.
I don’t think it would have been so loud if I didn’t live on the 3rd floor, but I do… so it was. I could not sleep. I was hungover, stomach upset, tired, and yet wide awake. Why can’t they do these kinds of things during the week, when I’m at work? Why must they torture me during my hangover? You know, even if I hadn’t been hungover, I still would have been upset. Saturday is my day to sleep in, not be rudely awakened all kinds of early but crazy hammering.
At 11 I left to pick up Dante and have lunch. I picked him up, then made a wrong turn and got lost somewhere in Round Rock. I was getting extremely stressed out because I got stuck in a construction nightmare and had to take like 20 detours, which made me even more lost. It’s been so long since I have been in Round Rock and all that construction and new development made it unrecognizeable.
We had lunch at TGI Friday’s because I finally got tired of driving around and I just needed some food so I could stop feeling like I was going to die. I really wanted a Bloody Mary, but I was not about to drink in front of this little 9 year old.
After lunch, I went home and tried to nap, but it just wasn’t happening. Lord of the Dance was still going on up on my roof and it was entirely too loud to do anything. My entire apartment was shaking and all the items on my walls were crooked and bouncing around. It was straight up insanity in there and it went on until about 4pm.
A little while after it stopped Jorge called me. He was in the arboretum area with some friends and he wasn’t feeling well. He didn’t have his car and wanted to know if I would take him home. I picked him up and he came to my place to have dinner and hang out for a while, and I got my shirt back. I got all dressed and ready to go out (because I like to torture myself with too much partying and no sleep) and then I took him home, then went downtown to Rainbow.
Xoch was meeting me out and we ended up having a great time. Two great nights in a row, what are the chanceS? We danced and danced and danced some more. She met this mega hot cowboy from out of town and she spent a lot of time dancing with him, and I danced with a lot of my friends.
I saw Aaron out with his ex man, Paul. Found out that Aaron and my friend Mark B know each other from way back. Small world… small world…
Ivan make a surprise appearance and I talked to him for a short while. No drama involved. Actually nothing eventful happened at all, but I did have a great time. I dropped her off at home around 2:30 and I went home to bed.
Sunday was not a day for sleeping in either. I had to get up kind of earlyish to go pick up my sister, and then Gina and her kids, to go out to my parent’s house. My brother and his wife were bringing the new baby out for the day, so we went to see him. What we didn’t know at the time was that my parents had invited the some of the extended family out as well. I’m not sure I would have gone if I knew everyone else was going, yet, I still had a good time. I mostly hung out with Gina and my sister in the kitchen and on the patio.
We took a few pictures of the kids riding and walking the Llama, Magic. This one is of Gina, her girls (Citlali and Maya), and my dad with Magic.

After hanging out at the parent’s house I went home for a bit, then went to the movies with Mark B. We went to see Just Like Heaven with Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo. The movie was super cute and is going on my list of top favorites. I will definitely be buying this on DVD.
And that was my long busy, party weekend.

I don’t know. My vision of Miss Reese Witherspoon has been clouded by reports that she is a hateful being. I’m an emo that way.
Ahhhhh…. Monday. The day for water and detox. If I never see another beer, it’ll be too soon (until Friday at least). At least I didn’t have Riverdance.
(oh…and there are oily lanes…which give you greasy balls that slip outta your hands. before that….my excuse de jour was that my pants kept trying to fall down)
