Yesterday I went to work out after work. Michelle and I tried the newer elliptical machines, the ones that are always taken up. We got on them and then couldn’t figure out how to turn them on. I looked around for a plug or switch and couldn’t find anything. Then Michelle figured out that you had to start pedaling them to get them to work. What? I have to provide the power to turn this thing on? I hope all this power I’m generating while I’m trying to punch in my program details counts towards my total time and calories!

Oh, which brings me to another annoying thing about the elliptical machines. Why is the default weight set at 150? That’s entirely too many times I have to hit the up arrow to get to 175! And why is the default age 20? Are they trying to make me feel old and overweight?

After the workout I went home to shower, then picked up M.Lo and went to Manuels to meet Michelle and Joe for dinner and drinks. M.Lo and I had the yummy Jamaica Martinis! Those things are so good. I need to start making them at home. Our waitress was super weird. I don’t know how to describe it, you’ll just have to trust me.

After dinner we went to Michelle and Joe’s to watch movies, and we watched The Wedding Date. Could Dermot Mulroney be any sexier? He’s so sexy that I’ll even forgive him for having that name. Who names their child Dermot? The movie was the predictable chick flick, but I still enjoyed it a lot. I loved that they had so much Michael Bublé music in it.

Today I got up early and went to pick up my little brother. Yes, the Big Brothers Big Sisters people finally got me back in touch with him. We were going to go take a canoe out on town lake, but it was supposed to rain and I really didn’t feel like driving downtown, since I already had to drive 40 minutes to his place from mine… and got lost.

So we went to Skate World and did some roller skating instead. On the way there I asked him if he could skate and he said yes, in fact it was his idea to go skating. He was even bragging about how well he could skate. He lied. That boy could not take one step without falling down. It took him a long time to get where he could go more than a few feet without falling. He seemed to be having a good time though, so I guess that’s all that matters.

We went to Chuy’s afterward because he wanted ice cream. I had some chips, salsa, and queso while he had his ice cream. After that, I took him home and came home to take a nap. I haven’t been doing much since then. I just watered my plants and that’s about it.

One Response to “why am i generating your power”

When I was at the apartment complex, I wouldn’t get on the ellipticals. Like you, I couldn’t figure out how to get it going, so felt like a big ole stupid donkey and got off. Never got on it again until I started at the Y and could discretely ask someone.
And, thanks to your mentioning the “feet pointing out” that’s all I can think about now. I feel like I run like McFly.
