I’ve really got nothing to say

Posted by Tomithey on August 11th, 2005

After dinner I went home and finished my laundry, did some ironing, and tried to watch Alexander. I have a hard time believing Angelina Jolie as Colin Farrell’s mother. She’s less than a year older than him in real life. How’s she going to play his MOTHER in a movie? It’s just not right.

Waltz is over

Posted by Tomithey on August 10th, 2005

Yesterday was a struggle all day at work. I could barely stay awake. I went home and took an hour and a half nap, got something to eat, and then went to waltz dance class. I have to say that this class was super short and I didn’t really learn much more than I already knew. I basically learned two new turns, and one of them isn’t all that great.

Security

Is it just me or does this whole radio tag at the border seem super scary. It says in this article that people can whiz by at highway speeds and the tags will show that they are authorized to enter the US. So what’s to stop terrorist from stealing these tags and then whizzing right into the US undetected?

The Painted Apartment

Here are some pictures of my apartment before painting, and after. Some of the pictures have some light reflection from the coffee table and other pieces of glass, but you can still see what’s important. You can click the pictures to make them larger.

Main Event

Posted by Tomithey on August 9th, 2005

Gina called me at work yesterday and invited me to go with her to The Main Event with her and her family after work. I had more fun than I expected, in fact, I had more than I’ve had in a long long time.

it’s painted

Sunday I watched The Sweetest Thing with Xoch and I finished painting in the living room. Jorge and I had done some stripes on one of the walls and they didn’t come out so perfect, but I think they look fine anyway. It all looks great really, and I’m very happy with how it turned out.

movies

Elf was funny and cute. Will F did a really good job of acting childlike and the girl that he likes in the movie has a great voice. It was amusing, but not as funny as Gina had made it out to be. She always talks about how hilarious this movie is. I think we just have different ideas of hilarious because some of the movies I thought were great, she didn’t enjoy so much.

Waltz

Posted by Tomithey on August 3rd, 2005

So… speaking of the waltz. I’m trying to make a waltz playlist on my iPod and I can’t think of many waltz songs. I have a few right now, like
Alison Kraus - Dreaming my dreams with you
Alan Jackson - Remember When
Alan Jackson & Alison Kraus - The Angels Cried
John Michael Montgomery - Dream [...]

UTBF

After class I went home and watched a video. It’s an OLD video from when I used to dance with the University of Texas Ballet Folklorico (El Grupo de Danze y Arte Folklorico de la Universidad de Tejas), which is Mexican folk dancing. I had been talking about the dancing with Mormon Micki earlier in the day and I told her I would bring the tape for her to see. I wanted to watch it before I gave it to her, because I wanted to make sure it wasn’t too embarassing.

My Apartment

Posted by Tomithey on August 1st, 2005

I’ve got pics of my living room now. It’s not so much redecorated as it is rearranged. I put a lot of stuff away to minimize on the clutter. It’s not complete yet. I can’t decide if I want to paint the walls or not. I really want to do it, but it’s an apartment and I’m not sure how long I will be here and if it will really be worth it. I also need to do something with the wall in the dinning room, it’s a mess!
