Where did Sunday go?

Posted by Tomithey on August 21st, 2005

My Sunday seems to be drifting away so quickly. I got up at 9 and went grocery shopping, but I don’t know where the rest of my day has gone. I did some touch-up painting in the apartment, but still… where did all the hours go? I need to make something to eat. I haven’t eaten yet today and I’m starting to get hungry.

It’s shaved

Posted by Tomithey on August 20th, 2005

I went to get my haircut at noon and I got it all shaved off. I was going to have it clean shaved, like NO hair at all, but Rebecca talked me into doing a short buzz. I’ll post pictures tomorrow. I like it, and it definitely feels cooler. It’s weird being able to feel the wind on my scalp, that’s something that I’ve never felt before. It’s not nice feeling the hot sun burning it though. I’ll have to be sure to wear caps or sunscreen when I go out. Having a sunburned and peeling scalp would not be sexy. Eeuuuwww

Licorice

Have I told you that I love black licorice… like obsessively love it? I’m eating some right now and I just know that my teeth are all black with chunks between them. I don’t like that cheap Twizzler black licorice… although it’ll do in a bind. I like the gourmet junk, that’s all soft and extra molasses tasting. MMMMMMM

Cordon Bleu

I’m on a quest now to find a slipcovered headboard for my bed, and it’s not easy. I may end up having to make one myself, which will suck, because I’m just not that crafty. Also, where am I going to make this? Am I really going to be sawing, hammering, staple gunning all right up here in my apartment living room? I don’t think so.

I’m done

I watched “¿Qué he Hecho Yo Para Merecer Esto?!!“, another Pedro Almodovar movie. I didn’t care for this one so much. I liked it enough, but it was kind of slow. I’m almost done watching all of his movies, and I’ve like most of them, but they are all very odd.

YELLOW

The rest of the bedroom is an entirely different story. I’m just not happy with it. Something is not right and I haven’t figured it out yet. I think it may be that there is too much in here, but I’m not sure. Jorge was supposed to come help me do this tonight, but he canceled to spend time with his mother. WHATEVER!

Painting again

I also went to the HEB and bought some rustic Texas stars to hang in my bedroom. It’s really starting to look country in there and I’m very happy about it. It’s kind of weird though, to go from the living room which is colorful and modern, to a western bedroom. There’s definitely no flow in style from one room to the next. I’m ok with that because I think it fits my personality.

Oh, and their rice is nasty.

I had the cheese enchiladas with chipotle sauce, and it was ok. The chipotle sauce was a little too runny and not spicy enough. I was thinking of mole when I ordered it, so I expecting something completely different. I also think I may have though I was hungrier than I was, because I got full fast. Oh, and their rice is nasty.

Hungover

Ivan called while I was at dinner and asked me to call him later. I called him back later on and he asked me to go to a friend’s party with him. I picked him up for the party at 10 and we headed off to Vicci. It’s a new club and it is really nice inside. The staff is all dressed up and they try to make the place feel classy. His friend had reserved a spot in the VIP area, so we went upstairs to that.

Hephaistion

Jared Leto gave an awesome performance as Hephaistion, Alexander’s lover(?). It’s amazing how he was able to convey his undying love and devotion in just the way he looked at Alexander. If it wasn’t for him, I would have totally lost interest in the movie. I think, in my mind, I changed the movie to be a love story between Hephaistion and Alexander, which actually would have made for a much more interesting movie.
