Work was bad, and busy. Blah… I don’t even want to talk about it. After work I met with my sister and Joe at The Salt Grass for dinner and then went to their house to play poker. Michelle wanted some practice before her tournament this weekend. I think I did pretty well even though I bet on every hand. I rarely ever fold. It’s not really a strategy, but it does throw everyone else off.
I started off doing really well, but then Michelle put on that new show Starved and I lost interest in the game and quit paying attention. Joe kept calling us Pyscho 1 and Psycho 2 because… well, I’m not sure why, but I think it had to do with me betting on ever hand and teasing Michelle about how many more chips I had. Oh, and because I kept trying to even out my gray chips and my red ones, so I’d bet whatever I had to do to make them even… and I kept referring to them as ugly chips (gray) and red chips. “I’ll bet you three ugly chips.” I am seriously the worst poker player ever. I don’t suck, I just don’t have a clue and I don’t take it seriously, yet I still end up doing pretty well.
After leaving her place I went home and bummed around for a while. I was still feeling pretty down, so I called Mark and asked him to go out to Rainbow. At first he was reluctant, but then he called back and said he’d meet me out. Yays! I had an ok time. Thomas was out as well, and was teasing me because I called Mark but not him. I didn’t call him because I thought he was always out on Fridays.
Saturday I went to Sam’s function at the Le Cordon Bleu cooking school, The Big Chill. I had talked Jorge into coming with me, since Ivan had to work, and Xoch passed on the invitation. M.Lo and Gina were out of town, and I really didn’t want to go alone. I knew Jorge would enjoy it. We had a nice time and got to taste a bunch of fun foods; especially desserts. Matty Curtis was there, and he’s always entertaining. I got to see Sam’s office, which was neat. I like seeing how people do their offices, it’s an interesting insight into someone’s life.
As we were leaving that function I told Jorge I was going to go home and paint. I wanted to keep myself busy. He asked, “Are you going to ask me to help you, or wait for me to volunteer?” I wasn’t planning on asking anyone to help because I know painting sucks, but if he was willing, then I was definitely ready to accept his help.
We went to buy the paint and spent most of the day (until 9:30) painting, and still didn’t finish. We got almost all of it done though, and it looks awesome. I’m very happy with the way it turned out. I’ll take pictures this week and post them. Jorge and I didn’t talk to much about anything. We mostly kept quiet (listening to music) and concentrating on what we were doing. It was nice just to have someone around.
I got assigned the task of taping everything off and I was not enjoying it. Jorge was doing the painting and I wanted to be doing that, but since he volunteered to help I figured I’d let him do it. Once I finished taping and started painting I realized I like the taping off better. Painting is NO fun! I hate it.
I was supposed to go to Steve’s party, but I really just didn’t feel up to being at a party. Later on in the night Mark called me and asked me if I was going to go out. I was bored stupid at this point and decided I needed to go out or I was going to sit at home being restless. So I got dressed and headed out.
I had an ok time… not great, but not bad. I wasn’t really in the mood to be out, but it still better than being at home. This random Lesbian came over and said, “Hi, I’m a Lesbian and I know you have a boyfriend, but I really want to dance with you. I’ve been wanting to dance with someone amazing all night and you are the one. Girls can’t dance as fast as you, and I really want to move! I promise you I can follow better than anyone!” As soon as we got out on the dance floor I realized she was a damn liar. She could follow, but not very well, and not very fast. It wasn’t a bad dance, but it wasn’t good either.
Sunday I watched The Sweetest Thing with Xoch and I finished painting in the living room. Jorge and I had done some stripes on one of the walls and they didn’t come out so perfect, but I think they look fine anyway. It all looks great really, and I’m very happy with how it turned out.
After Xoch left, I worked on reorganizing and redecorating my bedroom. I also cleaned out my closet. I got a lot done in there and it felt great to have it all clean and organized. I’m still not finished with the redecorating, but at least I got a good jump start!
Ok, so that was my weekend. Glad it’s over!
