I don’t have too much to report for this weekend. Friday night was pretty slow. I barely even remember what I did. Did I do anything? Oh yeah, I went to pick up my sister’s dog from daycare, after work. I had to watch Romie all weekend. After picking her up, I went to dinner with M.Lo and J.Lo at El Mercado. I was extra sleepy and I could barely stay awake. I went home and went to bed.
Oh, Lynn called me. She’s been living in Italy for the past year and she finally came back for a visit. So we made plans to hang out on Saturday. I got up early Saturday and still didn’t do too much. I was going to finish working on my apartment, but I couldn’t get motivated to do anything. Lynn called me and we decided to meet up at 3:30 at Central Market on Lamar.
I watched a movie while I waiting for 3:30 to arrive. I watched Music of the Heart. It was pretty good. A lot better, and a lot less cheesy, than I had expected.
I met up with Lynn and we went to El Mercado to have some drinks… no food, just drinks. We hung around there being harassed by our waitress for a couple of hours. Seriously, our waitress would walk by every five minutes and ask if we were “still doing ok.” It got real annoying very quick. Lynn and I had a lot of catching up to do. Not much has really changed in my life, it’s always the same story with me. The only thing that changes is the boy I’m dating. Her life is always incredibly interesting. She’s traveling around, meeting interesting people, and she has great stories to tell.
After the drinks we went to have a quick bite at Changos. Ivan had just got off work, but he came back to have dinner with us. Lynn and him got along really well and she said she liked him, and it seemed genuine. He liked her as well. I’m always surprised when my friends like who I date, because they usually don’t.
Lynn and I went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I liked it ok and all. It was better than the original, but it still had some annoying bits. I wasn’t found of the new Oompa Loompa(s). I liked the original ones better. I also didn’t like the Oompa Loompa songs. They were kind of dumb… ok, no, they were really dumb. The boy who played Charlie was precious, and the other children were perfect for their parts as well.
I dropped Lynn off at her car after the movie and I went to hang out with Ivan for a few hours, then went home to bed. I was exhausted. I got up early again on Sunday and bummed around the apartment, then went to have lunch with Ivan, came home and continued to bum around. I did manage to do my laundry, so at least I did something productive.
I’m still really tired, so I’ll probably go to bed early tonight. I’d like to be well rested for the week, maybe that will help me be less stressed.
