I’m sitting here eating my black licorice, drinking Makers (whiskey) and Coke with a splash of vanilla, and listening to Enya. Nice! I could do this for hours.
Yesterday I left work at 1 because I needed the time off. I went home, showered, shaved, cleaned up, and started reading. I’m really enjoying Confessions of a Shopaholic, but I have to read it often or I start to confuse it with the last book I read, The Boy Next Door. I’m almost finished with it, and that makes me sad. I’ll probably actually finish it tonight.
Around 3ish Ivan came over and we watched Mala Educacion. I had already seen it, but he wanted to see it. Hollywood Video only had the R rated version, which was dumb. They blurred out some parts that weren’t even all that bad. Watching it the second time made it a lot more sense. There were some things that confused me the first time I watched it.
After the movie we went bowling at Dart Bowl. We bowled three games and even though I bowled poorly, I still won each one by a lot. I’m not the kind of guy that throws a game just to make someone else feel better… nope, I’m much too competitive for that.
After the bowling we came back here and laid around chatting, then he went home at 10:30ish and I read some of my book and went to bed.
Work today was better than it has been all week, but it was one of those annoying days where you are busy all day, but not getting anything done. I hate that! I mean, I guess I got a lot done, but not stuff that I needed to do, and nothing that I can measure. I just spent the day helping people and “putting out fires”.
After work I went to dinner at Baby A’s with Sammy. We had this weird, but fun, waitress. She was a little off. Half way through our meal she comes over and asks, “So do you guys ever go downtown?” Um.. yes. “Do you go to Rainbow?” Yes. “Do you know Norbert?” Yes. Then she invites us to a party at RCC tomorrow night for Norbert. How freaking weird is that? This town is the smallest town ever. Even more odd that Sammy and I are trapped in a weird circle with Norbert.
Oh, and this waitress told us she was Norbert’s “assistant” and that she too is psychic… unfortunately she was not psychic enough to know she forgot to give me my tortillas with my meal. So there! Actually she was really nice and bizarre in that fun for a little while kind of way.
After dinner we went to Borders to look around. I was cracking up at myself because my flip flops were flippity flopping really loudly. I kept expecting someone to shhhh me. I was looking for a book on dreams that my sister has told me about. I couldn’t find it anywhere. I did find lots of interesting self help books. Makes me almost want to become one of those freaks that reads tons of self help books and foolishly thinks they have become more self-aware and in charge of their life… but no.
After Borders I dropped Sammy off and I went to the liquor store by my house to get some Makers Whiskey. I went to where the Whiskey was on the shelf and I looked at those bottles and I knew that if I bought a regular sized bottle I’d be drinking all night and every night until it was gone. Not like getting drunk drinking, but just having a drink every night. So I went to the register and bought one of the larger small bottles. That will last me maybe two nights, and that’s enough.
I stopped by the new Target by my house. It’s so cute! Not many people know it’s open, and I don’t think many people even know it’s there because it’s hidden back behind the trees, so it’s still all nice and fresh inside. All the items on the shelves are organized and pulled to the front. Everything is still clean and crisp. All the employees are still friendly and haven’t been jaded yet.
I’m at home now, having my Makers and Coke and I’m about to turn this computer off and start reading before I go to bed.
