I spent all day yesterday trying to think of what I wanted to do last night, and in the end I decided staying in and watching movies by myself sounded like the most fun. So that’s what I did. I watched the second disc of Fat Actress season 1. I thought these episodes were funnier than the first four. When I watched the last four I had mentioned that I thought her assistant, Eddie, looked like a thin Joe Rogan. It turns out that he is Joe Rogan’s half brother. I saw that on the bonus features of the DVD.
After that, I watched Team America: World Police, which was really funny, but kind of raunchy. They pretty much made fun of everyone and everything, with a big message about how Americans stick their nose in every other country’s business, whether we are wanted or not. The special features on the disc were very interesting. During the movie I kept wondering how big the sets were and how they got all the puppets to do what they were doing, so it was cool to see all of that in the special features.
This morning I got up earlyish and started working on a little project of mine. I wanted to record some of my old tapes onto my computer because I can’t find some of these songs on CD, or iTunes. So I spent about two hours recording tapes into digital format, and it was actually VERY easy. Now I have all these old jams that I had nearly forgotten about. They don’t sound perfect, but they sound pretty darn good considering I wore those tapes out.
What’s funny is that I remembered some of those songs to be a lot more entertaining than they actually are. I put in a few tapes and was blown away by how bad they sucked. I can’t believe I used to listen to some of that trash. Some of it never gets old though, like Candyman - Knockin’ Boots, JJ Fad - Supersonic, Sheila E - Sex Cymbal… and so on.
I did a little shopping today too. I bought the new Jimena CD which isn’t as good as the last one, but there’s a few jams on here. I’m trying to decide if I want to go to the Pride Parade today. It’s mega hot outside and if I go, I want to dress comfortable, but I don’t want to have to drive back home to change and then drive back down there to go out. I’m sure I can come up with a solution.
Ok, it’s time to forage for food!
