Friday night I went to dinner with Gina and Sabrina at Chuy’s. Sabrina was in town (from Ft Worth) for some reason or another. I don’t get to see her often, so we had a lot of catching up to do. She might be taking a job with Haliburton over in the Middle East. It’s dangerous, but the money is VERY good.

Saturday Javi and I left early for Corpus. We passed by this place called Kuntry Inn and Kuntry Korner. That was one too many “K”s in the name. I told Javi that it was probably some secret headquarters for the KKK.

It actually didn’t end up taking too long to get there. We went to the hotel and got dressed up, then went to the went to the reception. We got a little lost on the way, but I wasn’t stressing out. We did end up being one of the few people to get dressed up for the wedding. Most everyone else decided to go casual to the wedding, then dress up for the reception. We did it the other way around, which was more comfortable for us.

The wedding wasn’t too long, but seeing as how it was Catholic, there was too much of the sitting and standing action. And the priest was all trying to crack jokes, and I wasn’t finding them funny.

The reception was close to our hotel, so we didn’t get lost. I actually had a good time at the reception… in spite of the horrible DJ’s that wouldn’t shut up. Those DJs played some of the worst Cumbias I have EVER hear. I didn’t get to dance as much as I had wanted, but at least I got to dance! I danced twice with Javi’s mom (Cumbia and Salsa), once with his Aunt Judy (two-step), twice with the bride (two-step and cumbia), once with Elizabeth (two-step), once with Betty Jean (swing), and a bunch as a group.

After the wedding Elizabeth, Carlos, Betty Jean, Adam, Javi, and I went to Mulligans for some drinks (YAWN) and then over to 6 for dancing. I was having fun, but I was getting too tired to enjoy the dancing. I think we only stayed for about an hour and a half, then went back to the hotel to sleep.

There was a biker convention going on in town, and there were a bunch of them staying at the same hotel as us. Those fools got up early and were out in the parking lot revving up their engines all morning. They had NO concern for those of us who might have still been trying to sleep. I was not happy about that!

We had lunch with Javi’s cousin Adam before heading back to Austin. I ended up having a really good time on this trip and I got along really well with all of Javi’s family. His cousin Elizabeth was my favorite though.

The drive home wasn’t so bad, but I was extremely tired. I refused to take a nap when I got home because I wanted to make sure I would sleep that night. So I was forcing myself to stay awake, then by the time it came around to going to sleep, I couldn’t get comfortable or sleep.

I didn’t take any pictures this weekend, but Javi took quite a bit. The ones posted below are the only ones I liked that he took.
