Ok, so I supposedly had all of my rental car drama straightened out by 1:05 yesterday. The rental car place was going to give me a car and pick me up from work at 3:45. I called them back at 1:05 and changed my pickup time to 3:00pm. At 2:55 I went outside to wait for them. At 3:05 I decided to call and check on my ride.

Me: Hi this is Tom Lastname I’m waiting on a pickup at 3M.
Jonathan: I don’t have a Tom Lastname, I have a Gillman Lastname. Is that you?
Me: No, you have a Tom Lastname who has a rental being paid for by Gillman Mitsubishi, and I’m waiting on my 3:00 pickup.

He transfers me over to his driver who asks for directions and then tells me he JUST then leaving the office to pick me up. Their office is 20 minutes away. I was PISSED. I was already outside waiting and it wouldn’t be worth it for me to go back into my desk, so I sat out in the hot sun waiting and waiting. 3:35 came around and I was livid, so I called the office again to complain that I was still waiting on my 3pm pickup and it was now 3:55!

Jonathan: Well sir, you original pickup time was 3:45 and you called at 2:55 to change it to 3:00, are driver should be there any minute. We’re only 20 minutes from your office.
Me: No. I called you at 1:05 and changed my time to 3:00. I am NOT stupid enough to think I can call at 2:55 and expect a ride here in FIVE minutes. It’s 3:35 and I am STILL WAITING on my ride.

What time did my ride show up? 3:45. Which means he did not leave the office when he said he was. The ride back to the office only took 20 minutes, so how did it take him 40 to get there to pick me up. I was seriously out of control angry with these fools.

Anyways… I drove for almost two hours in traffic to drive down to the dealer to get the bowling balls out of my truck and then drive back up to meet my sister for dinner at Chilis. The waited must have been enamored with Michelle because he gave her free toast with her meal and then free dessert. She tried to say it could have been me he was hot for, but no… I didn’t get that vibe from him and I wasn’t the one getting the free stuff. Duh.

Bowling was fun! We played against the married couple. The first game was going good for me. Every frame was being picked up (meaning I got a strike or a spare). Only once did I not pick up the frame. By about the sixth frame the married lady said, “Looks like someone is going for a 200 game.” I jokingly yelled at her not to be putting pressure on me!

The 10th frame I was up to bowl and I got a strike. I looked up at my score and realized I was already over 200. Yays for me! How was I doing that well and not noticing? So in the end I bowled a 203. Yays for me! That’s the first time ever that I have bowled over 200. My previous high game was 197 (last week) and before that it was 182 (two seasons ago). So we won the first game by 98 pins.

The second game was not as nice to me. I only bowled a 154, which is still 16 pins above my average. We lost that game by 17 points. The third game was even worse to me. I only bowled a 119. I guess I wasted all of my good bowling in the first two games. I honestly think the pressure of the 203 in the first game made me too nervous to bowl well in the others. So we lost the third game by 21 points.

But the good thing was that since we won the first game by so many points, and lost the second two by so little, we ended up winning the match by 60 pins. Yays for us! I don’t know if we’re going to make it into the playoffs or not, but every little bit helps.

After bowling I went home and watched some television and then went to bed. Today seems be a better day, probably the best so far this week. Let’s hope it stays that way!
