Yesterday was yet another long hard day at work. I left work all moody, tired, achy, and sick feeling. I went home to nap and die a slow death. Javi called me and wanted me to go over and have dinner with him. I tried to convince him that I was in a mood and I would be poor company, but he wasn’t having it, so I went to his place.

He made yummy rice and quesadillas… and they were yummy, I SWEAR, but he did leave in some onion bits and I was not happy about biting into them. We watched TV while I laid on the couch. I was cold and there was really no reason for it. I just couldn’t get warm. Sickness does that to me.

Today work has been much better, or maybe I’m just now getting used to the idea of not being able to get anything done? I left work for an hour and a half to do my Big Brothers Big Sisters interview. It went really well and I’m excited about it. I had thought I might want a little sister, but she said they don’t match men with girls for fear of it looking predatory. I explained to her that one of the reasons I would possible want a girl is because I wouldn’t want to appear predatory by having a boy. She agreed with me but said that due to antiquated rules, they cannot match a man with a girl. She said they do sometimes match women with young boys, but they won’t match a woman with a teen. So weird!

So we went through all the questions and they were all fine. Then…

Interviewer: What kind of sports equipment do you have in the apartment that you could bring out to play with your little?
Me: Um? Sports equipment? (long pause) I have a HULA HOOP!

Then we both started cracking up. I’m glad I was able to amuse her with my lack of masculine sports equipment.

I hope it doesn’t take too long to get my matched up with a little. I’m super excited about. She said my sister should be getting matched up soon with her little. It’ll be fun having play dates with our littles. We both asked for Elementary School aged kids.

Tonight I was supposed to hang out with Jimi, but he hasn’t said anything about it lately… I need to check with him again.
