Friday was a pretty good day at work. After work I went to go to FedEx to pick up my Jimena CD, the one that I thought the post office stole, but they ended up returning as undeliverable. I had no idea that Tower was resending it through FedEx. I thought it would come through regular mail again. Anyways, when I got home I had a note on my door saying FedEx came by and that I could pick up my CD at the center or wait until Monday when they delivered again. Now, you know I’ve been going insane waiting for this CD, so I drove my ass real quick to FedEx. SO THRILLED! This CD was worth waiting for! Yays for me!
Afterwards I went to dinner at El Mercado with Tomas. Dinner was fun, and it was the first time I had hung out with him. We had drinks and chatted a lot about music and friends.
When I got home I spent the rest of the evening ripping CDs to my computer. I finally got smart and decided to use both my desktop and laptop, so now the process is going twice as fast. Why didn’t I think of this sooner? DUH!
Saturday I got up kind of early and went CD shopping again (I know, I’m addicted!). I went to buy another Paulina Rubio CD. I really wanted the Spanish versions of Fire (Sexy Dance) and The Last Goodbye, plus I had heard it is one of her better albums. So I went to the HEB Plus and picked it up.
Afterward, I spent more time ripping CDs to my computer. At this point I am up to Gloria Estefan, so it’s still taking a long time. Anyways… Around 6:30 I went to pick up Gina to go see Rey’s band (Son Y No Son) perform at Central Market on Lamar. We had fun hanging out together and with all the crew from Sylvia’s wedding. Juan showed up to hang out with Ana; I hadn’t seen him since New Years Eve. I saw cute little Brent wandering around Central Market in his Chef uniform and almost didn’t recognize him.
We left Central Market around 9 and I took Gina home, then went home to change and get ready to go back downtown to Rainbow Cattle Company. I haven’t been to RCC since NYE. I had a really good time. I missed all of that dancing and my body wasn’t really used to it. My feet are still sore and blistered. I was having such a good time that I never wanted to leave the dance floor, so I was dancing with a lot of different people (Kirby, Thomas, Juan, Elizabeth, Craig, Dustin, Joee, Ernest, Michael, Dwayne).
It was nice being back there and it was nice that people missed me. I should disappear more often because I like being missed. Except next time I take a break from dancing, I need to walk on gravel to keep my feet calloused.
Today I got up at 11 and went to lunch with Xochitl at the Texican Cafe. We went shopping for a little while afterward, and now I’m home ripping CDs again. I’ve done 12 CDs while I’ve been typing this.
