Oh, what a weekend. I thought that I didn’t have anything to update about, but it seems that I kind of do. I have spent a lot of money this weekend, and a lot of time shopping.

Friday night I was going to work out, but just didn’t feel well enough, so I postponed. I stayed home and watched movies. I have watched a ton of movies lately. I don’t even remember what I watched. Oh yeah, I watched Starsky and Hutch and Barber Shop 2: Back in Business. Starsky and Hutch was ok, it wasn’t hilarious, but I liked it. The previews before the movie has Soul Plane, which reminded me that I really want to see that. Barber Shop 2: Back in Business was pretty good, and entertaining. I can’t wait to see Queen Latifah’s version, Beauty Shop.

Saturday I got up 9 and felt so much better after a long night’s sleep. I went to work out, then went shopping. I spent three hours shopping all over town trying to find two specific CDs. I went to Best Buy, Wal-Mart, and Target and had no luck. I decided to hit East Austin, and risk getting stabbed or having my wheels removed while waiting at a traffic light.

I went to 7th street first and stopped at La Tejanita. Um… SUPER GHETTO. The sign outside says it’s a music store, but they also sell insurance and phone cards… cuz that all goes together nicely.

Next I went to another ghetto music store (did it have a name?) on South First street and I found one of the CDs (Paulina Rubio - Border Girl), but it was $18.99. I wasn’t going to pay that much for a CD that is 3 years old. Nope! So I left and went to Waterloo Records, where I struck out again.

Cheapo was close to Waterloo, so I stopped there next and I found the Paulina Rubio CD for $17.99. I gave in and bought it, even though I knew it was priced too high. Unfortunately I didn’t find the other CD (Thalia - Con Bandas Grandes Exitos).

I was suffering from mass starvation so I decided to stop at the Music Mania next to Fiesta Mart so I could run into Fiesta to get something to snack on. Music Mania didn’t have either CD, but they did have the best Latin music selection I had seen so far.

As I was leaving the Fiesta parking lot I saw a sign that read, “Tires for Rent”. Really? Renting tires? No.

I gave up at that point and went home because I figured three hours was enough time wasted trying to find CDs. I spent the rest of the evening watching television and talking on the phone. Leander came over later on and we watched A Touch of Pink That movie was GREAT, and I highly recommend it to everyone. It was very funny, well acted, well scripted, kind of original, and entertaining. It has the funny Indian guy from Guru, but it’s his mother in the movie that is actually the funniest.

Sunday I did more shopping. I found the Thalia CD I was looking for at another Best Buy, after having searched at another Wal-Mart and HEB Plus. Oh, and while I was at HEB Plus, I found the Paulina Rubio CD for $11.99… I knew I shouldn’t have paid $17.99 for it. I also bought the Gloria Trevi CD. Gina seems to think I’ll like it, so I thought I’d try it out. I listened to it last night and I’m not sure I do like it. She’s very rock and I like my music more pop.

While I was at Best Buy I bought this cool thing for my TV/Stereo. I have been trying to find a way to wirelessly listen to all the music on my hard drive through my stereo and this will allow me to do it! I bought a D-Link Media Lounge System. It connects to my TV/Stereo and wirelessly to my router so that I can use my TV to browse my files and listen to music, look at pictures, and watch videos (from my computer), I can also subscribe to radio services through it.

Getting it set up was horrible, and tech support (whom I had to call twice) was not helpful. I could totally tell the fool was reading info from a problem tree and scripts. He had no idea what he was doing. At one point he asked me why I had it connected to the TV, because most people connect it to their computers… that’s when I knew he was completely useless to me and I hung up and figured it out on my own.

It’s pretty cool, but I’m not sure if I’m going to keep it. I would rather have something that broadcasts from my computer to my stereo, so that I can control things from the computer… not the TV. Actually now that I think about it, I’m pretty sure I’ll return it tomorrow.

Oh, I’m also doggy sitting for my sister. I had to pick up her dog yesterday from doggy day care. Luckily she is totally worn out and just sleeping in the corner. She’s was even bathed before I picked her up… but I’m still sneezing like crazy over here. I will have to vacuum and anti-bac Febreeze like crazy after I drop her off at Michelle’s tomorrow.
