So I took off from work on Thursday and I got up a little before lunch time and met up with my sister, Joe, and Andrea for lunch at Firebowl. I have decided I really don’t like either of the dishes that I normally order from there. I think I’m going to try my sister’s usual order of ????? I think it’s General Tso’s chicken. Whatever… anyways… I tried hers and I liked it better than mine.

After lunch I met up with Brenna and we spent the day shopping for outfits for tonight. It was like old times. We used to spend more time planning out weekend outfits to go out, then we actually would spend out wearing them. We were always out buying new outfits for the weekends. Good times! I miss those days! Anyways… we went all over town.

We started off at Vivid, where I bought my shirt and it’s the cutest. I love that the bag they put your purchase in matches what you buy. Last time I bought a blue shirt and they gave me a blue bag. This time I bought red and got the red bag. Too cute!

We went to Creatures and I saw the cutest shoes to match my outfit, but they were $109. No ma’am. Maybe if I hadn’t just blown $78 on the shirt I would have done it. I really do need some new black shoes, and these would have been perfect. Sadness.

We went to the Arboretum. Brenna found a cute top at Banana Republic and we were off to Lakeline Mall. I was hoping to find some shoes, but had no luck. Men’s shoes are so boring. I wanted something nice, shiny, and black with maybe a little bit of color. No luck.

So we to Legs Diamond instead. I didn’t find any shoes that I liked there either! RUDE! I did get the bright idea to wear a fedora with my outfit as we were driving downtown. I’m all about the accessories! So we went to Vertigo and I found the best hat! I’m super excited. It’s really the cutest! I’m way past excited about getting dressed for tonight.

After we got the hat we headed to Barton Creek Mall where I got some rings polished and still did not find any shoes. Oh, funny story (well, maybe just funny to me and Brenna, but I’ll tell it anyways)… while we were at Dillards at Lakeline Mall I was trying to think of this shoe store at Barton Creek that I thought might have good shoes. I knew it was a designer name but the only name I could think of was Marc Jacobs and I knew that was wrong. I asked Brenna and she couldn’t think of it either. It was KILLING me because I could see their ads in my head but couldn’t think of the name. I couldn’t think about anything else because it was driving me insane not being able to figure this out.

I wandered around the shoes at Dillards trying to see if they had that brand but I couldn’t find it. Brenna and I were racking our brains trying to think of it. Finally we get to Lakeline and discover it was Steve Madden, and wouldn’t you know it, Brenna was wearing Steve Madden shoes during this entire time. Wrongness. And while we were having this conversation at Dillards her shoes were off (because she was trying on other ones) and the Steve Madden label was staring right up at us.

I didn’t find anything at the mall so we left to go have dinner. We went to El Chile and sat in Jana’s section. We both had margaritas; I had the Prickly Pear and she had some Orange kind. They were both delicious, but extremely strong. Brenna was drunk and I had a fierce buzz going on. I think Jana spiked our drinks with a little bit more than usual. I had the weird kind of buzz where you get super sleepy, and all I could think about was going home to nap.

I dropped B off at home and started driving home. Xoch had called me during dinner to invite me out to Latino night later on with her and Fernando. YAY! So I called Xoch on my way home and eventually my buzz wore off and I no longer felt sleepy.

I went to Latino night and met with Xoch and Fernando and had so much fun. They had a drag show before the dancing began and it was actually pretty darn good. Sweet Savage from San Antonio (or is it Dallas) was a special guest and she did an amazing job. Our drag queens here just suck compared to the ones I’ve seen from everywhere else. Well, actually you don’t even have to compare them to know they suck.

We danced so much last night. I think we maybe left the dance floor ONCE to get drinks. I danced a lot with Fernie and Xoch, then also a little with my Mario, Lithia, and Desi.

I didn’t get home until 4am. Suck. Which means I didn’t wake up today until 2pm. Anyways, I had a great time last night. I had so much fun dancing to all that pop en espanol and the cumbia (which I am getting much better at), the salsa, and the merengue. I wish I could go to Latino nights more often.

Ok, must go get dressed now. I will hopefully post plenty of pictures tomorrow!
