So Friday I sat around the house doing pretty much nothing. It was some serious frigid degrees in my apartment and for some weird reason my heater decided to ONLY blow out cold air. I was sitting on the couch and the vent above me was freezing me out. I turned off the heater and decided to light a fire in the fire place… my fireplace is gas, so lighting it really just requires flicking the light switch on the wall. I waited a while and that just wasn’t providing enough heat.
I wanted to stay at my place because I wanted to go out later, but I decided to go to my parent’s house where it would be warm. I wasn’t doing anything anyways, so I headed down there. I figured it wouldn’t kill me to miss a night out. On the way down there I got the idea that I could still go out, I could just drive back into town! It’s about a 45 minute drive from downtown to my parent’s house.
I hung out down there doing pretty much nothing… same thing I was doing earlier. My older brother (Richard) called to see if I was going to go out. I asked mom and she was willing to go into town, so we went in to meet them. We met up at Fado. Downtown was dead empty, but there were a lot of people in Fado. We hung out there and had a few beers, then went over to RCC, where it was also dead. I knew enough people in there to keep myself dancing all night, so I was plenty happy.
Mom had only drank a Coke at Fado, so I ordered her a Cherry Vodka Seven without asking. Soon she was downing them almost as fast as I was. I knew that would keep her lively enough to make it through the night.
I had a great time dancing with Thomas, Andy, and Lee. The bar was so empty which made it a blast to have the dance floor all to ourselves. Most of the time it was only us on the dance floor, or nobody else would go out there until after we did.They even played some line dances and I made mom go out and dance with us. We danced to Boot Scootin’ Boogie and The Matador and we didn’t do so bad.
We left Rainbow and went to Oil Can’s so we could all dance, but mom only danced for short while and Lulu and I danced for hours. Lulu and I danced for a long time and then we left and headed home.
Anyways… So I stayed the night at the parent’s house and didn’t get to bed until 3am. I thought I was going to be able to sleep in, but that didn’t happen. They all walk around SO LOUDLY down there, and the phone was all ringing at 9am. So I just got myself up and started helping get things ready for Christmas.
Everyone showed up by 2pm and we had a nice lunch and started opening presents. Michelle and I were laughing because Richard came into the house without the presents and I said, “Oh did you need some help carrying the presents in?” Of course I wasn’t really offering to help, just making sure there were some presents to be had.
I got to hand out all the presents and it was fun, but I kept skipping myself. I got some good loot. I actually got a lot of what I wanted and what I really wanted was CDs. Just about everyone got me CDs. YAY for me! My sister also got me a Wonder Woman bobble head, and it’s the cutest:

I didn’t stay too long after the presents because I was exhausted and ready to go home to take a long nap, plus I had been out there for almost 24 hours and was ready to be at home. After my nap I talked to Sammy for a long time and we were thinking about going out, but it just didn’t happen like that. Neither of us wanted to drive anywhere and we decided it was too cold to be out. Yep, we’re lame!
So I stayed in and chatted with friends on-line all night… until like 2am. Then crazy Andrea sent me a text message on my cell at 8am to see if I would pick her up at the airport at 10:30. I couldn’t get back to sleep, so I decided to go get her. Her stupid plane was 30 minutes late and I ended up getting there 15 minutes early, so I had 45 minutes to kill. YAWN. Well, there was lots of eye candy wandering around so I just enjoyed the views.
Afterward, we went to lunch and then went shopping. I bought a heater for my bathroom. I don’t like to turn the heat on in the apartment because it makes me all dry and gross, but I hate taking a showers when it’s cold. So now I have a heater! I bought an awesome heater that oscillates and it even has a timer so I can set it to come on and warm it up yo without even having to get out of bed. The way I see it, when it’s all frigid degrees in my apartment in the morning I’m going to want to get out of bed and run into that bathroom to get warm.
I also bought this awesome portable speaker system for my laptop. I needed something to put more boom in the room and I didn’t want portable speakers because they would need batteries or need to be plugged in. I don’t want to have to deal with either of those! Well, I found these Sony speakers that plug into the USB port and that provides the sound delivery AND the power source. YAYNESS!
Yup, that’s pretty much it of my day. I’m just hangin’ at the apartment watching the television.
