Friday I went shopping with Andrea after work. We went to Zingers and I fell in love with this vase. I put it at the counter while I shopped because I intended on buying it. I ended up talking myself out of it because it was $86 and I couldn’t figure out where I would put it. The price really didn’t bother me as much as knowing I have NO room for it.
Also, knowing that I already have well over 100 vases, made it seem stupid to spend $86 on another one.
We went to Target and I saw Meagan, Brenna’s cousin. We hate her… long story. She had the nerve to smile at me when she walked by and I gave her a face full of stank eye for it. How dare she smile at me? She knows I hate her. I told her EXACTLY how I felt about her last time she tried to be friendly with me. She should have averted her eyes when she passed me!
We went to dinner at El Mercado when the shopping was done. We laughed ourselves stupid about these dumb websites that we had found months ago. I’m still waiting for Andrea to e-mail the links to them so I can laugh at them again.
I dropped her off and then went home to go to bed. Although that I didn’t happen. I was so sick and all I wanted was to get in bed and die. I got on-line to check my e-mails and such and ended up staying on for hours talking to Brian, Ryan, Aaron, and Sam. I didn’t get to bed until almost 1am.
Saturday I got up at 9 and started getting ready to go to my parent’s house for our holiday gathering. It was going to be our immediate family and most of my dad’s side of the family. I ended up running WAY late. Somehow like 45 minutes just disappeared as I was getting ready. I think I lost it somewhere during the ironing and the shaving.
I picked up Richard and Lulu. The drive down there was actually fun. I had burned this new CD with lots of country and cumbia music and I was jamming out, and so was Lulu because I could hear her singing from the backseat.
I was flying down the highway and sometimes didn’t even realize I was hitting speeds of up to 90mph. That would be SUCH a big ticket if I had gotten busted. I think the speed limit is 70, and 15mph over the limit is considered reckless driving or endangerment or something and it’s a hefty fine. When we got to the back roads I didn’t slow down much.
The holiday party wasn’t so bad. A little boring at times, but it was ok. I think around 30 people showed up. Michelle and I were not happy that there was no main course meal thing. It was all snack type foods. Oh noes!!!! If we had known, we would have stopped to get food on the way. I still filled up on all the junk food and tamales.
We had a white elephant type gift exchange. There wasn’t much good to be had, but everyone was fighting over this bottle of rum like a bunch of alcoholics. It must have gotten passed around like 10 times. Oddly enough I ended up with the present Michelle brought and she got the present I had brought, which was OH SO CUTE. I would have chosen it myself and re-gifted it.
Lulu and I are trying to make plans to go to Desperados to get our cumbia on. She’s going to try to teach me some new cumbia moves and I’m going to try to teach her some salsa and merengue. I’m hoping I can convince her to go out with me next Thursday to Latino night at RCC.
I left the party around 3:30ish and stopped in town to pick up Andrea at some lame party in the white ghetto. Serious, it was like crack alley. After I dropped her off I went by Smith and Hawken.
I went home and took an hour and a half nap. I was super tired and it felt nice to be all wrapped up in my blankets snug and warm. Sammy came over around 8:30ish and we headed to dinner at Frank and Angie’s and then out to RCC. Aaron met up with us shortly after. None of my regular dance partners were out, so it was kind of lame. We went over to Rain for a bit and hung out on the patio.
As we were walking in the bar I saw Josh (Chad’s friend). He saw me and immediately averted his eyes. See, now that’s how it’s supposed to be. When you know I hate you, avert your eyes when you see me coming. Don’t make me give you the stank face.
I was cold out on the patio at Rain, but it wasn’t so bad. There weren’t a lot of interesting people out. There was a bunch of plastic looking drag queens though. Those “ladies” are scary and they need to calm down with the make up and the eye brow teasing.
We didn’t stay at Rain too long, and we went back to RCC. My regulars had shown up, so I was getting my to dance more. Kirby and David were there. I danced with them and a lot with Juan. That adorable Andy C also showed up and I got to dance one two-step with him right before we left.
OOOH, Brenna was also there. I got to dance with her and meet her friends. She looked like she was having a great time. I think we may be collaborating on some New Years plans.
We left the bar around 2 and dropped Aaron off at home. He was all kinds of drunk and started rambling and gushing all about how I was so nice to drive him home. When we got to his house he was gushing so much, he said, “Oh my gosh, I can’t believe you drove me home. This is so nice. Oh, I just didn’t expect all of this.” “It’s not like you’re getting an Oscar! Just get out of my car!” Dang, he was out of control… but it was funny. ![]()
