Today was all about the shopping… from the moment I got up. Ok, maybe not entirely, but pretty darn close.

I was awakened at 11:20 by Gina calling. Although, for some weird reason I seem to think that someone else called before her, but I can’t remember if it was a dream or reality. Anyways… Gina called and wanted me to meet her at David’s Bridal at noon so I could help her and Sylvia shop for the bridesmaid. Gina is Sylvia’s one and only bridesmaid… and maid of honor. Anyways… I explained to Gina that it was 11:20 and I was still in bed.

In typical Gina fashion, her response was, “So! All you have to do is get up, shower, brush your teeth and run out the door. Get moving!” So I did… then after I got ready she calls back to tell me Sylvia is running an hour late. So I did a little gardening (I still have a ton to do).

I decided to leave early and go to Smith and Hawken, one of my FAVORITE stores. I called Gina and told her to meet me there. I had to buy some insecticide for one of my plants. I took in a sample of some of the leaves to see if they could tell me what was wrong with it. It some how got this thing on it, that I forgot what she called, but it looked like cotton and it was sticking to the leaves and killing them.

I haven’t bought anything from there in so long. I used to shop there like crazy… seriously I calculated one time how much I had spent there in a matter of months, and let’s just say it was more than couple thousand… and sadly no furniture was purchased. It was all vases, pots, plants, and decor.

Anyways… they still remember me in there. I walked up to the register and she said, “Hey, you haven’t been in for a while and we have this new program where you can earn rewards as a preferred customer. I’ll sign you up. Are you still living on Great Hills Trail.” That woman didn’t even ask my name and she knew it already and where I lived. WEIRD.

ANyways… afterwards we went over to Ulta to shop for a bit. Then went to meet Sylvia at David’s Bridal. When we got there, she was gone and the lady said Sylvia saw her car and went looking for us. So I called Sylvia and that woman was not looking for us, she was ordering a coffee at Whole Foods. Whatever.

Anyways… shopping for bridesmaid dresses is not that exciting, but Luckily Rey (Sylvia’s fiance) was there, so I had something pretty to look at… and I was doing it more to support Gina, than for entertainment. So I sat and chatted with Rey, and babysat Gina’s kids while the ladies played with the dresses. In the end I think Gina ended up with a very nice dress and she should be pretty happy with it.

After the dress shopping I parted ways with that group and walked over to Crate and Barrel to meet Xoch, and ended up running into my sister and Joe as they were parking. Yep, it’s a small small world.

Xoch and I shopped in there for a bit then went to lunch at Manny Hattens. How does a lunch consisting of two hot dogs (NO TOPPINGS), baked beans, and a soda end up costing $12? For reals?

After there we went to REI so that Xoch could buy some hiking shoes. Why are all the hiking shoes and other camping apparell so bland and colorless? Would it hurt to use colors other than grey, black, olive, and green?

Ok, next story. After she picked out her bland, but yet cute shoes, we went to Smith and Hawken. Her first time ever in there, and my second time in like 3 hours. I didn’t buy anything, but everything I pointed out that I liked was followed by her saying, “Maybe someone will get it for you for Christmas.” Hmm… who could that someone be?

Anyways… next stop was Old Navy. Xoch bought some jeans and then the day of shopping was over. I had plans to have dinner with a boy, and it was requested that I make Chinese food. So I had to run to the grocery store to get stuff to make fried rice, sesame chicken, and won ton soup… I even bought fortune cookies. FUN FUN!

Dinner was yummy, not as good as PF Changs, but still yummy. It’s a lot of work making Chinese food, and a lot of ingredients and mixing and such, but it’s fun to do. We ate dinner and watched Desperate Housewives.

A good time was had by all.
