I have lots to tell, so this is going to be a long one.
Friday after work I went to have drinks with Andrea to celebrate stuff and to get over a drama filled day. We went to Cozy Mel’s and shared some nachos and queso while having drinks. Afterwards we decided to go to the new Crate & Barrel which just opened the day before.
The store is VERY large and it was packed with customers… who happened to be mostly of the homosexual variety. There were homos everywhere, included 90% of all the male employees. Of course, being that there were so many homos, I ran into lots of people I knew. Unfortunately some of the people were not the kind that I would normally want to see, so I tried to hide as best as possible… and failed.
I hate running into people I don’t really like and then being forced to make small talk. I am no good at the small talk because I just don’t like being fake. I don’t care how you are doing, and I’m not going to honestly tell you how I am doing. It’s always awkward.
After that experience we went to the Pottery Barn, where we ran into a coworker (BLECH), and I saw another homo that I know. That store was empty though, there was no traffic in there. I was disappointed in their Christmas stuff this year. Next stop Restoration Hardware, which was pretty much the same… lame.
We went to Target, where Andrea bought some stuff, and we walked around looking at everything and making fun of people. This Target down south sells wine, which is weird because normally only the Super Targets do that.
I got home and I was so tired. I just wanted to go to bed and sleep, but Ryan called and was all distressed about a date. He wanted to have drinks and hang out, so I invited him over. We got some drinks and watched Wonder Woman and both fell asleep. He passed out on the couch and I covered him up with a blanket and went to bed. Ryan woke up around 9 and went home, and I continued sleeping for another hour.
Saturday I had a haircut appointment, which I always enjoy so much. I was supposed to have lunch with Ryan, so I invited Andrea to join us. After my haircut I went to pick her up and we tried calling Ryan SEVERAL times and he ignored our calls with his continuous sleeping, so we had lunch without him and then went shopping at Barton Creek Mall.
We were trying to find a Halloween costume for Andrea but things just weren’t working out. We went into several stores looking for what she needed and couldn’t find it. We found one piece of the costume at GAP, where I also got busted making fun of an employee by another one of the employees. Good times!
Andrea bought a shirt to wear to the party at Old Navy and that was pretty much it of our mall experience. Next stop: Cavender’s Boot City! Only we got lost and confused on the way there and it took us a little extra time to find it.
I found a cute shirt (see pics below) and Andrea bought some jeans to go with the Old Navy shirt (see pics below). We went by Andrea’s so she could get her stuff and then went to my place to get ready for Eric’s party and took off.
There weren’t too many people there when we arrived, but we had fun playing air hockey, pool, and ping pong. We did some Jell-o shots and had margaritas and sangria. More people started showing up as time went by and it was getting crowded and hot in there.
Some guy at the party thought I was dressed as Tim McGraw. I knew that would happen. I wasn’t dressed up as anyone but myself, but I knew that would not be the last time I would hear that before the night was over… and it BY FAR was not.
Eric’s house was decorated VERY well. That boy puts a ton of effort into his parties. It was crazy in there. He must spend a fortune on his parties, seriously! We had a good time hanging out there and I took a few pics but the batteries ran out on my camera. Normally I always have an extra set in my camera bag, but I left it at my parent’s house and haven’t got it back yet. So I only got to take five pics.
We left the party around 10:30ish. I took Andrea home (at her request) and I went out to Rainbow. I was kind of worried that it would be empty and everyone would be out at parties instead, but it was pretty busy. The only problem was that only two of my regular dance partners were out and they kept dancing with each other. I was getting bored and was about to leave when a fellow bowling buddy (Duane) came to ask me to dance.
I had so much fun dancing with him. Having a good follow makes dancing a million times better. The night started to get much better after that. I danced with him most of the night, and danced some with Juan, Andy, Joee, Kirby and some other boy that I don’t know.
Oh I also ran into D2 there. We talked for a while and it was nice. He was dressed as a caveman and he was looking pretty sexy. There were a lot of people in costumes in the club, and there were a lot of really lame costumes.
I didn’t really see any costumes that blew me away, but there were some pretty good ones. I wish I had been able to take pictures, but even if my batteries hadn’t died, I wouldn’t have wanted to carry my camera around all night.
I got called Tim McGraw a few times at the club. Oh I saw this lady that I hope was supposed to be Teri Clark (country singer) because she looked EXACTLY like her. It was amazing.
I danced so much that I could feel my feet blistering up and at one point I got a charlie horse in my right leg and my upper thigh was cramping hard. Did I stop dancing? No. Did I stop after that song? No.
“F” and “K” showed up really late. “F” was dressed as a Pharaoh. Kiko was dressed as some X-men super hero thing. They convinced me to go over to Oil Can’s with them, where there was a line to get in… LAME! The bar was like sardine can packed, humid, hot, and sweaty. In true Oil Can’s style, 40% of them men were shirtless, sweaty, and hot bodied. Which is ok to look at, but gross to brush up against.
We didn’t stay too long in there. We ditched and went to Charlie’s. As we walked past 219 West (or 214?) I see this little black man out the corner of my eye and he gets all up in my personal space and yells, “What the &*^%$ are you doing!”
I seriously though I was about to get hate crimed! Then I turned to look at it was ROY BOY TOY! So we hugged and chatted for a bit. He’s now the chef at that place. I didn’t get a chance to talk to him for long because Kiko and Fernie were waiting on me.
We went to Charlie’s for a short time, then they dropped me off at the parking garage. There was DRAMA in the parking garage. The stupid people that operate it, shut the entry and exit gates to the garage and left. How did they expect all of us to get out?
I WAS PISSED! Luckily these two tall strong boys yanked the chain gates up and held them up for people to go under. They let about five vehicles out, but the garage was still full when we all left. WRONGNESS.
Then just a black away at 5th and Lavaca there was a body in the middle of the intersection and a crowd around it, with police cars blocking everything off. DRAMA. I think he either passed out in the street or got hit by a car.
I was seriously beginning to wonder if I was going to get home safe. People were driving like drunk idiots and there were cops out everywhere. It made me glad that I had ONLY been drinking water since I got downtown.
Of course I did get home safe. I came home and got in the shower and my home phone started ringing, which freaked me out because WHO would be calling me at home at that time? SO I got out of the shower and answered it and it was DRUNK Ryan. Shameful.
Anyways… that’s all I have for now. I’m about go get dressed and go grocery shopping, then watch Party Monster, which Eric lent to me.
