The weekend was good, but it went by extremely fast. I guess having five days off last week made this weekend seem very short. I guess it was short because it was also very busy.
Friday, after work, I went to Target to get a present for my brother’s reception, then off to a party to celebrate the pending nuptials of Rey and Sylvia. I didn’t really want to go but I had already promised Gina that I would go to the party. I wasn’t looking forward to it because I wasn’t going to know very many people at the party, and we all know I don’t like new people.
The party was ok. I hung around chatting with Gina, who was only one of four people I knew at the party, the others being Hugo (Gina’s husband) and Rey and Sylvia.
I hung around at the party for a few hours, then ditched to go home. I was tired and bored out of my mind. I also knew I was going to have to get up early to go to my brother’s reception.
I picked up Andrea at 9am and we headed down there. I thought I was going down there to help decorate and prepare food but it seemed that most of that was already done when I got there. Why was I asked to go early?
Andrea and I were so bored, so what do you do when you are bored at a party? We started drinking. We did shots and we poured large amounts of rum in our sodas.
The party was ok, but apparently Andrea wasn’t feeling it. Not many relatives showed up. I think really, besides our immediate family, only four relatives showed up. The rest were all of Richard’s friends.
I left the party and went right home to bed. I was so exhausted and had a huge headache so I laid down to nap and didn’t wake up for two hours. I had earlier told Andrea that I would go to a show with her at Antones, so as soon as I got out of bed and got dressed I rushed down there. I hung out with her at the merch booth folding table and watched people consistently pass us by and go to the folding table next to ours.
The table next to us was much better and had a mannequin and better displays. We just couldn’t compete with that. Andrea did sell a few things though and we had a good time watching all the strange straight people in the club. Straight people are SO weird. We even got to watch two people meet and hook up.
After Fraction (the band we were supporting) finished, we left and went to Rainbow. Andrea only stayed for a while, then caught a ride home with her “lover” Ben Brown, who happens to have the most ridiculous hairdo known to mankind.
I had fun at Rainbow but I have to admit I almost bailed and went home early. I just wasn’t feeling it and the smoke was really getting to me. But then I started dancing more and more and I started to have a really good time.
I stayed pretty late and I got to chat for a while with Kirby, which was nice. I got home pretty late (or technically early, since it was in the AM), and then spent time chatting with Ryan on-line, so I didn’t get to bed until MUCH later.
So of course, today I woke up extra late. I went grocery shopping then began watching more of my Wonder Woman DVDs. I also made some drinksicles from the set my sister gave me. YUM YUM. I have another batch in the freezer right now.
I’m dreading going back to work tomorrow. I really just can’t stand the thought of doing that stupid project anymore. I’m not getting anything else done. I don’t have time to work on ANY of my other work and I’m so behind. I’ve got so much pressure on me to get this finished and not a lot of help. Boss man keeps asking me what can be done to get this finished faster, but I don’t have answers for him.
I would like to spend Monday working on catching up my other work, but I have to meet with him Monday afternoon to discuss progress and we really haven’t completed that much.
Ok, I’m going to try to put it out of my mind otherwise it’ll drive me crazy and I won’t get any sleep.
