Who doesn’t love pictures?

So Sunday was my birthday party. I woke up kind of late, so I didn’t really have time to do much before getting ready for the party. Although, had I not gone so early to Michelle’s, I could have done more. I was trying to get a hold of Ryan to make him go pick up Andrea and bring her to the party, but he was sleeping. He’s ALWAYS sleeping!

So I went to pick her up, then he called while I was on my way, so I picked him up as well. We got to Michelle’s two hours before the party to get ready for it, which apparently was like an hour and half too much time.

The party went well though. All of my favorite people showed up and I got badass presents. Michelle got me the alcoholic popsicle maker set, and the coolest hand mixer. Seriously, the coolest hand mixer ever. It even has a travel case. Why does someone need a travel case for the mixer? I don’t know! But let me tell you, I will be straining my brain to figure out ways to make it necessary to take my mixer out on the road.

Andrea got me the Wonder Woman First Season DVD set. WOOT WOOT! I’m so excited to watch those! Ryan got me the George Strait 50 Greatest Hits Double CD set, and a cute frame with a super cute picture of us in it. Sammy got me the funniest bottle of wine, and the name of it is “Royal Bitch”. Yeah, that baby is going out on display.

My older brother got me the same thing he got me last year, and the year before, and the year before… NOTHING. Interesting isn’t it.

We had made all kinds of white trash food to go with the theme. We had chili mac and cheese, chili cheese dip, Vienna Sausages, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, peanut butter and marshmellow sandwiches, cocktail sausages in a crockpot filled with bbq sauce, and these crescent rolls filled with chili cheese and rice, and cakes. Yeah, gross… but also delicious.

I had a lot of fun at the party and we even all watched Desperate Housewives together. LOVE THAT SHOW! Afterwards we (Andrea, Ryan, Michelle, and I) cleaned up, then I took everyone (but Michelle) home.

Today I got up way too early because the stupid landscaping people were outside making entirely too much noise. Do they need to do that SO early in the morning? For reals, I was pissed, and ON MY BIRTHDAY? Wrongness!

I went to have lunch with Michelle and Andrea at the Berry Hill Cafe. I’ve decided that I no longer love their nachos. They have too much cheese and it’s too tangy. I need to find something else there to love because I really do enjoy their salsa, and good salsa is hard to come by.

After lunch I went to pick up my new sister-in-law (Lulu) to take her shopping and just basically hang out. We really haven’t spent any time together. My mom comes up every week and takes her out, since currently she does not have a car or job, and is home alone bored all day, but I decided to show her other parts of Austin, mainly downtown, South Congress, and East Austin.

She’s only been here for about a month and I know she’s missing home (Mexico) and her family, so I figured East Austin would be fun for her. We actually had a really good time and I think she really liked all the places that I took her.

I took her to La Mexicana Bakery and she got all excited and said that she had asked Richard (her husband, my brother) if he knew of any place in Austin where they make sweet bread (like Mexico style) and he said “No”. Later she was telling me how she can’t find certain things to cook with here, so I took her to Fiesta. Again she got all excited.

Anyways… after the shopping we went back to her place and talked for a while, then I came home, and that was my day. Tomorrow (Tuesday) I’m going to my parent’s house to help get ready for the wedding reception this weekend. I’m supposed to pick up Lulu to take her with me.

Ok, I’m watching CSI right now and I need to go to bed soon.
