Yesterday was a good day at work, the day went by really fast and I actually had stuff to do. The new girl is catching on really quickly and that is going to make my life so much easier. Having someone competent in that job will be awesome.
I had to stay a little late after work because my 3M boss had me working on some projector with him for like an hour and a half. I had plans after work, so that totally rushed my plans and made me a little crazy.
I had to run to the store after work to get groceries, and then rush home to start making everything. I had invited my sister, her boyfriend, and Ryan over for dinner and to hang out.
My sister wanted me to make chicken burritos, and some how there was some confusion about her wanting sauce for her burrito and some chips and salsa. So I had lots of ingredients to buy.
As soon as I got home I started working on making the salsa. I wanted it to have a slightly blackened flavor, so I burned the jalapenos and onions on my comal. This process ended up filling my entire apartment with smoke, and isn’t it interesting how that begins to look normal to you and you soon don’t realize you’re standing in a light cloud?
Anyways… I made the chicken, beans, and Mexican rice next. I had to make two batches of rice because the first batch just didn’t come out like I expected. It had a great flavor, but it was a bit hard. The second batch was made completely different, but it was good.
Everything actually came out really good and I was super happy!
We played Hoopla and poker all night. I pretty much suck at poker, and I don’t have the dumb luck that Ryan has to continue winning. That boy sucks hard at poker, but still manages to win a lot. It’s very odd.
They didn’t like Hoopla much because no single person wins at Hoopla. Everyone plays together to beat the clock. Joe called it communist, and they each tried to think of ways they could declare a single winner. Freaks.
Everybody left around 11, and I checked e-mail, read a little, then went to bed. Today I’m going to do some shopping, then Sammy is coming over to hang out and we are going to go out to Rainbow.
