Sunday night I accidentally went to bed with my contacts in. I woke up at 1ish and the weird dry sticky pain I felt in my eyes let me know immediately that I had forgotten to take out my contacts. I went to the restroom and tried to carefully remove them, but at 1am, struggling to keep my eyes open in the bright light, it was not easy.

Monday morning I got up and started getting ready for work. I went to put in my contacts and notice a piece of the left contact dried up on the counter. Thinking that maybe that piece miraculously did not belong to the contacts I recently had in, and that somehow it came from a long gone pair that got sucked up into the air vents and redeposited back on my counter months later, I opened the case hoping to find two hole contacts. Nope. Not happenin’.

The left contact had half a chunk missing from it, the same dried up chunk on my counter; sadly, that was my last pair. I had hoped to schedule an appointment to get a new prescription before I had to throw that pair out, but I never got around to doing it.

So today I have an appointment to go get all of that done. I’m leaving work at 2pm. I cannot wear glasses every day. My glasses are cute and I’m stylin’ in them, but they annoy me after long periods of time. I’m always cleaning them and they are always sliding down my nose. I’m also damn sure I won’t look half as sexy in a cowboy hat, with glasses… although my sexiness has amazed me in the past.
