Friday night was a busy busy night for me, but it was loads of fun. I went to work out after I got out of work. I really did kick my own butt. I tried hard to push myself further than I had been going and it felt good.

After working out Noe showed up and we went to have dinner at El Mercado, then we headed off to Xoch’s art show at the Mexic Arte Museum, which by the way, happens to the be the Official Museum of Texas for Mexican and Mexican American Fine Art. That place is tiny. I’ve only ever been there one other time and I think it was on a field trip in high school.

That place also does not have any A/C. I think that is not very fitting of an official Museum of Texas. Someone needs to do something about that.

A lot of Xoch’s friends from work were there. Fernando, Scott, and Cathy showed up. Cathy was drunk, which was funny. But what was even more funny is that while talking to her she leaner forward and the heel of her shoe went through the wooden floor. Oh, good times! She was so embarrassed and made me promise not to tell Xoch, but how could she expect me to keep that promise?

I had to tell Xoch, it was some funny stuff and it needed to be shared. It’s not everyday you see someone’s shoe go through a floor.

We stayed at the show, which was the Young Latino Art show, for about 40 minutes and then split. Noe went home and I went to meet Sammy at Taco Cabana. There was this adorable young boy in there that I was totally checking out.

I couldn’t tell if he was looking back at me because I was checking him out so blatantly, or because he liked me too. Either way he was like 18 and I’m a million years older than that, so I let it go!

So then we proceeded over to the Long Branch and met up with Rose, Kelly, and Molly. Kelly was celebrating her birthday. The Long Branch wasn’t so bad this time, but only because it had somehow turned in to a Latin bar for the night and they were playing lots of Music en Espanol. There were even people dancing to the Salsa and Merengue.

Brenna showed up, which was totally unexpected. I didn’t even know she was coming into town until a few hours before. Ok, so I knew, but I had TOTALLY forgotten. So she hung out for a bit, then we split to run off to somewhere with a little more excitement.

So we headed off to the Charlie’s. As we were walking to my vehicle we saw this guy standing in the street in his boxers with no shirt. He was standing near the end of the street just staring at us and not moving. We were a tad scared.

So we tried to avoid him, but the closer we got, the more he stared at us and started towards us. So we tried to go all the way around him, but then he yelled at us, “Is this your car?” Thankfully it was not.

We couldn’t understand why he was pissed about it. The car was not blocking his driveway and it wasn’t in his way, and it was like 11 at night. Big freaking deal.

Anyways… so we get to Charlie’s and there was a short line to get in, but what they didn’t tell you was that there was another line on the patio to get into the main bar. How dumb is that? We had to sit on the patio and wait to be let into the main bar. Wrongness.

It actually was busy inside, but there was nobody fun in there. Long gone are the days when I had large groups of men that hated me there. I miss those days. I miss walking around the bar and seeing crowds turn to walk away from me. I miss hearing people snarl when I walked by.

It’s just not fun anymore. I may have to do something to correct this horrible injustice. I don’t know what yet, but I’m sure I’ll think of something.

We ran into David and his friend, the one that I don’t think we ever got introduced to. David had a few drinks in him and was being extra friendly with me.

David and Friend left to go to Rainbow, and so did we. Nothing was going on at Charlie’s anyways. Rainbow was actually dead as well, but Thomas, Brian, Andy, and Elizabeth were there.

I danced with Thomas once, and was surprised it worked out ok… considering I was wearing my platform boots. I actually did really well. I’m telling you, I can do anything in those boots.

We left for a bit and went over to Oil Can Harry’s, but it was dead there as well. On the way there we passed by this gorgeous man. He was so hot that I nearly passed out as he was walking towards me. SERIOUSLY. My knees got week and my eyes popped out right in front of him. He just kept walking. He didn’t know he was supposed to catch me, swoop me up and be my husband. I’ll forgive him… for now.

So we went back to RCC and hung out. I danced with Andy a couple of times too, and Brenna danced with him once, then we left.

As we were leaving the parking garage I saw this guy in the rear view mirror that was stumbling down the street. I said, “Oh what is this Mary behind us doing? It’s sad.” Brenna looks back there, laughs and says, “It’s not sad, it’s funny.”

As he gets closer to my vehicle I said, “I better lock the doors just in case he think he’s getting a ride with us.” Sure enough, 10 seconds later he’s at the door trying to get in. Wrongness.

So we left there and went to have breakfast at Taco Cabana, I dropped Brenna off and went home to bed. That was my Friday!

Saturday was a long long day for me. After getting home late from the club, like at 2ish, I had to get up at 8:30 to head off to Xoch’s graduation. I was dreading this all week. I figured it would take all morning and I’d pass out sleeping through it.

I called Nancy (code name: Madre Teresa) on the way to see about meeting up with her so we wouldn’t have to sit alone. It didn’t actually end up taking as long as would have thought. Luckily it was the master’s program, so there weren’t too many people graduating.

There were these funny Black couple sitting behind us being all ghetto and hilarious. Like when the lady giving the speech said not to clap until every name was called, the lady behind us said, “They gonna just have to come drag my ass outta here, cuz I’m yelling for my boy.”

Then as they were calling out the names, one of them was an Asian student named, Cheng Cheng. Immediately both of them behind us started singing “Cheng Cheng Cheng.” Madre Teresa and I were cracking up.

The guy next to Madre fell asleep, so that has us laughing too. I guess we found ways to amuse ourselves and stay awake.

After graduation, they all went to eat lunch, and I split. I couldn’t spend any more time with her boyfriend. If he would just not speak to me, it would be ok, but he’s always trying to talk to me.

So I came home and went to lunch with my sister and Ryan. They were running around trying to find Ryan a place to live when his lease is up. He looked at places near my sister, and one at my complex. Hmmm… where will he end up?

After lunch I napped for like 10 years then chatted on-line until it was time to go out. Unfortunately I chatted for too long, then had wardrobe issues and ended up being late to leave.

I met up with Sammy at RCC and we ran into Tom on the way in. Joe D met up with us later. Him and Sammy did the chatting thing while I went off to dance with the boys.

I had a great time dancing with everyone and I spent so much time on the dance floor that my toes were killing me and I started getting blisters. Fernando and Dustin were a little tipsy, but I had fun dancing with them anyways.

That cute boy, Corey, was there again. I went to talk to him, but I still can’t convince him to dance. I think he’s scared he’ll embarass himeself.

After leaving RCC, we went to have breakfast at Magnolia Cafe on South First, then went home.

Today, Sunday, I have done a whole bunch of nothing. I’ve just sat around the house watching TV all day. I left the apartment once, to get food, and that’s it. I also slept until noon.

Something to say?
