Bowling is OVER, and thankfully I never have to see Chad and Rupert again!
Kristi and I went to go eat before bowling, and it was such an ordeal. First we were thinking about going to the movie and skipping out on the whole bowling thing, so we went by the theater, but the movie times didn’t suite us.
So we decided to eat at PF Changs, even though Bahama Breeze was right there in front of us. We drive over to Changs and it’s crazy busy. What is it with Austin? How can so many restaurants be so busy on a freaking Tuesday? It’s not right.
We decided to go to Bahama Breeze instead. So we drive back over to Bahama Breeze and it’s closed, and not just temporarily closed, but like PERMANENTLY. Kristi was traumatized, and I do mean traumatized. She went on a rant, for about twenty minutes, about how unfair that was and how they should have put ads in the paper saying that they were closing so that she could have eaten there one more time. Then she went on about how she was going to write Congress to demand legislation to make places advertise before they closed.
So we decided to eat at The Cheesecake Factory instead. I’m not particularly fond of the place, but Kristi wanted to eat there, and she’s been asking a lot lately, so I said yes. We ate at the bar because we were crunched on time, and too hungry to wait for a table.
I had Cajun Chicken Littles, or as those less creative might call them, Chicken Fingers. I also had mashed potatoes, and let me just say that I hate skin in my mashed potatoes. It’s just wrong. Total WRONGNESS (© Tomas2).
Why do so many places have to do that? It totally ruins the texture for me. Eating is all about texture for me. I don’t like to mix textures. I like mashed potatoes because they are creamy and squishy, skin is tough and slimy. They don’t mix!
Anyways… so then we went to the bowling alley. We didn’t have to bowl, but we had to go to pick up our checks and watch the other people finish out the playoffs. But really, we just wanted to hang out with our friends and be social.
I actually had a really good time. I wasn’t looking forward to going because I thought Chad and Rupert would show up, and thankfully they didn’t. Kristi and I didn’t end up staying all night. It was getting too late and we were tired.
I’ll miss all of my bowling league friends, but it seems like most of them I will still be able to see. We made tentative plans to hang out with some of them really soon.
