Today has been an odd day. Actually, this has been an odd week. My life has come to a crashing halt. I have been completely unsocial and unproductive. Is that a word, unproductive? Well, if not… it is now.
Last night I went to dinner with Lynn and we really just hung around the restaurant, then my place, chatting all night. She’s a great person to chat with. She’s moving to Italy soon and I’m going to miss her, but I’m kind of getting used to her coming and going.
Since I’ve know her she’s lived in Austin, Cape Town, Chicago, Austin again, and now moving to Italy. She’s moving to go to a photography school. I would like to go to school to learn more about photography, but Spanish and Graphic Design must be first.
Today I got up late and spent most of the morning/afternoon running around taking pictures of Austin. I wanted to take pictures of things that make me love Austin. I thought I was doing good, but came home and realized I was completely uninspired, and I think I knew that when I was taking the pictures. I wasn’t focused and I wasn’t really paying attention to what I was doing.
Anyways… these are the only pics that I ended up liking. They are striking or artistic, but they are things I love about Austin.

The Austin Loop 360 (Capital of Texas Highway) bridge. It’s such an Austin landmark and it’s all rusty and gross, but it’s beautiful. The area around it is pretty beautiful too, and it’s just a mile or so down the road from my apartment.

The Austin Capital, nestled in mid-downtown, is the largest capital in the US. Back in the 70’s Austin had an ordinance that no building could be taller than the capital. They wanted the capital to be visible from anywhere in town. I guess that’s why Austin’s skyline is still pretty small. These were actually taken through my windshield, which explains why they aren’t so clear.

This is a picture from under the Lamar street pedestrian bridge. I just thought the graffiti was funny, and I think it’s even funnier that the last three words are the colors of the Mexican Flag. Viva La Raza!

Another shot of the Lamar street pedestrian bridge.

This is a very pixelated shot of the skyline (Photoshopped). I wish I could have snapped a closer picture, but it’s just not possible. I snapped this one from the Barton Creek Mall Parking Lot.
After I came back from all that, I came home and napped for a bit, then ate dinner, and have since been watching E on the TV. I may be meeting up with Sammy later and venturing out… and I heard a rumor that Aaron might make a cameo.
PS. I have a bit of a headache too. Sucks. Oh, and can I just say that I’m stunned the only people that have called me today are Sammy and my sister? What’s up with that?
