I went home after work yesterday and went right to bed. I was so tired that I had to nap for two hours. Unfortunately it was one of those weird sleeps where you feel like you never actually fall asleep, but someone time just disappears. I don’t know if that made sense… and I don’t care.
We (Kristi and I) went to meet Sam at Cozy Mel’s for dinner and had a nice little meal on the patio. We all had peach margaritas, and I would have loved to have had another if I hadn’t been driving. I wouldn’t have let Kristi have another, she was lit up on the first one.
We got to the bowling alley and Leander was waiting there. He tried to call me and pretend he wasn’t coming, which I did not find amusing. Thomas showed up shortly afterward and we all just stood around talking and watching the crowd.
We ended up playing a team called “The Four Sucketeers”, and we lost the first game by 10 points. So we knew we had a chance of winning, but we’d have to step it up a notch. I didn’t bowl so great the first game, but I knew I could do better.
I also happened to accidentally bowl on the wrong lane once. If you’ve never bowled on a league, then you probably don’t know that you alternate lanes after each turn. The bad thing is that I bowled a 8 when I bowled on their lane, then when I had to re-bowl on my lane I got a strike.
The second game was much better for me, but the rest of my team did not do so well. It was turning out to be a close game, so each frame was very important.
So what did I do, I made the mistake of bowling on the other teams lane AGAIN! TWICE! I bowled both frames on their lane. How did this keep happening? Why didn’t anyone notice and stop me? I think I kept doing it because I was used to bowling last on my team (I had changed the order so that I was bowling first this night), so I was used to just watching where my teammates bowled and just following them.
Anyways… so again, I bowled bad on the opposing teams lane, then get a strike on my lane. The other team was so annoyed with me, and I just didn’t care. They wanted me to just get whatever score I had bowled on their lane, but the President of the league wanted me to just re-bowl again on the right lane.
We were the last teams playing by this time, so the rest of the league was standing around watching us and cheering for my team. I don’t think I heard one person cheering for the our opponents. It was super exciting to have such a huge crowd cheering for us, but kind of depressing that nobody was cheering for them.
We ended won the second game by 7 points, but unfortunately when the points from both games were added up we had lost by 3 points. That’s so much worse that loosing by a lot. It sucks when it’s such a close game. I still kind of have mixed feelings about it. I’m sad to have lost, but glad that it’s over.
Oh, and as I was leaving the bowling alley, one of the guys from the other team (and both of their guys were UGLY) looks at me and says, “You can’t be beautiful and win all the games.” What is that shit?! Oooh, I so wanted to hit him.
So because we had to play two matches, the games went super late and I didn’t get home until after midnight. I couldn’t sleep last night, so I didn’t really fall asleep until around 1:30. I’m exhausted today.

i’m telling you… i tried sending those good luck bowling vibes…
