I have been having the best times at Rainbow lately, and I was really looking forward to last night… and thankfully, those good time just keep coming!
But let me start with the beginning of the day. I woke up kind of early because my darn cell phone was ringing. I think there’s a world wide conspiracy to deprive me of sleep. That damn phone always rings when I’m sleeping.
Anyways… it was Brenna, so I thought I’d call her back later and just keep sleeping. However, that didn’t work. She called back again. I answered the phone and found out that she was coming to town to hang out and shop. So I made plans to hang out with her and blend her in with my other plans. Yay for accommodating friends!
I called Sammy and Kristi to finalize our plans for the day, then they both showed up at my apartment at the same time and we went to get something to eat, then went back to my place to wait for Brenna. We all headed over to the arboretum to get some shopping done, then to go see 13 Going on 30. Brenna kept shopping, while we went to see the movie.
That movie was so good, and not at all like I had expected. I thought it was going to be a kid flick and kind of cheesy, but it’s completely the opposite. It’s funny, and kids can watch, but a lot of the humor is lost on those that didn’t grow up in the 80’s. I highly recommend this movie. Jennifer Garner was amazing in it!
After the movie we did some light shopping. Kristi shopped at Banana while Sammy and I shopped at Gap. She called me on my cell to tell me about some cute guy helping her with the shoes, she wanted to ask him to go out with us. I informed her that he might just go with us, since he was gay and we were going to a gay bar. Apparently I squashed her little dreams, she thought he was straight.
I had to break it down for her: 1. He’s working at Banana. 2. He’s cute. 3. He has style. All of this equals highly probably that he’s GAY. Besides that, I just know: He is GAY.
During this time out shopping, Chad called for Kristi. He wanted to borrow her game, “Imagine If” for a trip he was taking to Llano. Anyways, so because he was calling to borrow her game, he must have decided he should invite her. Apparently, Chad (Kristi’s boss), Rupert (Kristi’s employee), Shirl (Kristi’s employee), Jessy and some others were going to Llano to celebrate Shirl’s birthday and stay in some hotel for the night.
Kristi asked me if I would want to go, but I declined. I’m not going to go to some event that we were clearly not wanted at, nor we were really invited. Besides, we already had a full, and more exciting, day planned. So we went back home, Sammy left, and Kristi and I got ready for our night out.
Kristi looked really pretty. She had done her makeup really well, put on some earrings and other jewelry and she was working it. She cleans up really nice.
We went to pick up Brenna, who was also lookinf fantastic, and then went to have dinner at PF Changs. I’m so glad they do reservations now. We only had to wait less than 10 minutes, and the regular wait was almost two hours. Up until this point, Kristi and Brenna hadn’t really ever hung out or talked, but they seemed to be getting along really well.
There were tons of high school kids having dinner at Changs that were dressed for prom. The odd thing was that most of them were girls with no dates, and even more odd that they were pretty girls with no dates. We enjoyed watching them all and commenting on their dresses.
After dinner we went to Oil Can Harry’s for a drink, then over to Fado to meet up with my brother’s bachelor party. My brother, Richard, was already drunk… of course. We hung around there for about an hour chatting with my sister and laughing at this other bachelor party that was going on.
We left Fado around 10:30 and headed over to Rainbow Cattle Company. Brenna and Kristi wanted to leave and go straight bar hoping. I told them they could go and I would wait at RCC. My sister and her boyfriend showed up for a little while and I tried dancing with Michelle (sister) but she had no rhythm and it didn’t go so well. Then Fernando showed up and we started hanging out.
I went to dance with him and while I was dancing with him, Michelle and Joe left. So it was just Fernando and I to amuse ourselves. I danced with him a bunch (but I still owe him some dances to Shania) and I danced with Andy a lot as well. I also got to dance with Elizabeth and a few other boys, so it was a pretty good night.
Oh! I got to see that picture (taken last week) of Sammy and I up on the monitors, that was kind of neat. My favorite bartender said I looked hot and gave me my drinks free. He’s the bomb! I need to do a shot with him next time I go out.
The girls (Kristi and Brenna) came back for a little while to hang out, just as Eric (from bowling) was showing up. I’m so glad he actually came! The girls left to go outside and check voice mail, but didn’t come back. They went bar hoping again. So I hung out with Eric and his friends for a while.
So I had a really good time; I got to dance a lot and I chatted with lots of friends. After rainbow we went to Taco Bell, then back to Brenna’s to recap our nights and eat. The girls has an awesome time bar hoping.
Right now I really need a nap, but it’s late and I’m going to try to hold out until bedtime.
