Saturday was supposed to be such a great day. I had been looking forward to the Tim McGraw concert for a while now. It was supposed to be the highlight of the weekend.

I got up early and my mom and I went to the salon (Starzz) so that I could get my hair done and so that she could get a makeover.

We got there art 11:30 and didn’t end up leaving until around 2:30. My mom ended up getting a makeover and her hair done. I didn’t mind though. I love hanging out at Starzz. In my opinion, it’s the best salon in Austin.

Everyone is so nice there, and I’ve been going for so long that I know everyone in there. I can hang around chatting with Joey, Sarah, and Rebecca all day. They took such good care of me and my mom, and they even hooked mom up with a lot of makeup and stuff.

Sarah did a great job with my mom’s makeup, and Angela did a great job on her hair. I’m going to have to do something nice for those ladies next time I go in.

After leaving Starzz, we went home so that I could change shirts, then went to pick up Sammy for lunch. We went to have lunch at Castleberry’s, where Sammy and I just happen to be their Web Models. Do you think that would gain us some notoriety in the place, maybe a free sandwich, or a discount? Nope. We get nothing. Shameful!

We went to pick up Xoch and happened to snap a little picture in her apartment before leaving:

Her friend, Fernando from Peru, which is exactly how she ALWAYS refers to him (”Fernando from Peru”), was supposed to go with us. He decided the rain was too much and canceled. We pressed on anyways. Yeah, we were the dumb ones.

We parked and walked over Auditorium Shores and we were all already cold and wet. We got right up on the stage and things were looking promising, then it poured. It rained hard on us and we got soaked. The radio station had said no umbrellas were allowed, and no cameras either. We must have been one of the few idiots to actually believe they’d enforce those rules.

So there we stood umbrellaless and soaked. Soaked and standing in strong winds at 58 degree temperature. Nope. Not good. The show was supposed to go on, “rain or shine”. Whatever! What they actually should have said was, “After rain, or shine.”

They postponed the show until the thunderstorms were supposed to pass. The show didn’t start at 5:30, and one small storm had passed, then Mr. Burton Fitzsimmons came back out on stage and said another thunderstorm was coming and once that passed, the show would go on.

That’s when we decided to leave. There was no way we were going to stand there and get poured on again, and not have any entertainment on stage. Nope, not happening. We were all numb, cold, and wet. I ran into someone at Rainbow that said he left at 7, and they still weren’t on stage. That’s just wrong. I’m writing a complaint!

So I dropped everyone off and then came home. My mom left and I took a nap. I was so tired! I got up around 9:15 and started getting ready to go out. At least if my concert was ruined, I was going to get some good two-stepping done and have a good time.

I met Sammy up at the Charlie’s parking lot. And I took this picture of the hilarious sign in the alley parking spaces. Notice all the misspellings in the last line. It’s hilarious.

Aaron was going to meet up with us as well. Fernando had called me earlier and said he might me up with us too. There were a lot of cute boys out, and most of the boys that I danced with last week.

I had a great time. I danced with Elizabeth, Joey, Thomas, Juan, Andy, Sam, Aaron, Fernando, Larry, and Steve. I’m a little surprised that I danced with Larry. We went out on a date last year and things didn’t go right. I haven’t really spoken to him since, he kind of was a bit standoff-ish to me after our date (probably because I waited a long time to call him), so I assumed he hated me. Anyways… he danced with me, and it was cool. I will have to make an effort to be more friendly with him.

I let Steve lead me both times we danced. I think I actually did ok. I had to close my eyes because it’s the only way I can follow without trying to lead. I need more practice!

Andy was a new boy for me to dance with. He’s totally cute, with great dimples. I danced with Thomas last week. He’s such a great follow, and I love dancing with him. He’s a big thick manly boy.

All that working out has really paid off because I didn’t get tired at all this time. I could have gone much longer and been fine. I need to make sure to keep up on the thirty minutes of cardio three times a week.

There was a really cute little hottie that I was flirting with a lot, that turned out to be a friend of Aaron’s. I didn’t get the chance to dance with him because he only wanted to dance to a waltz. He must have left early because I couldn’t find him later in the night. Oh well… maybe next time.

Fernando actually showed up. He is cute, just like Xoch said, but he doesn’t look like me, like she said. I had told him that I would be wearing a white hat, and a brown Hustler t-shirt because we had never met before and he was wondering how he’d find me. Then I made the mistake of switching to my black hat before leaving the house. Luckily the brown Hustler shirt was enough for him to find me. He was fun, and I hope he calls me to go out again. He seems like he’d be a lot of fun to hang out with.

Oh, and the DJ was different too. He was even totally cute. He looked like Tim McGraw, but a little thicker. Maybe someday I can catch him when he’s not DJing and ask him to dance?

We left the bar around 2am, and now it’s bed time!

Something to say?
