I haven’t updated in a while, but I’m going to try and keep this short. It’s been so long that I don’t really remember much anyways.
Thursday night I watched my shows on NBC and that’s about it. I think Noe and I tried to watch some of Intolerable Cruelty, but he wasn’t convinced that I liked it, so we turned it off. I actually was enjoying the movie, despite my disgust of Catherine Zeta-Jones and George Clooney.
Friday I called in sick to work. I had my fill of slaving away for the week and decided that I needed the day off. So what did I do instead? I spent the majority of the day cleaning my apartment, which is always clean anyways, so it didn’t really look any different. I really just spent most of the time scrubbing, dusting, and organizing. I also cleaned some vases that were a little smudged.
I went to do some shopping at Target and I was very proud of myself for not going crazy in there. I kept grabbing stuff and then convincing myself to put it back. I just got what I needed and left.
Unfortunately I had trouble getting home because there was a horrible accident right in front of my apartment complex on 2222, but fortunately I was not in it. This woman in a red BMW Z3 was on the phone with her boyfriend and she dropped her cell phone, then while she was digging around for it, she ran right into a big truck and it went over her car and killed her. The roll bar bent and pinned her in the seat. It was a huge mess. They had 2222 closed off from the light before 3M to the light after it. They were routing people through 3M.
My apartments happen to be between those lights, so I couldn’t get home. One of the policemen told me that it could be four hours before they had it all removed, so I convinced him to let me by the barricades so that I could get home. I could get in the back entrance without interfering with the scene. Later, they stopped letting anyone through and Kristi and Chad had to tell them that they were the managers of the property to get them to let them through.
So I went home and bummed around for a while, then around 5ish got super bored and decided to go shopping with Kristi in the Arboretum. She had some things to return and some groceries to get for a party at the apartment office the next day.
After the shopping we stopped by Noe’s apartment to surprise him and to see if he wanted to go to dinner. Noe wasn’t answering the door, and we knew he was home, so we kept knocking. We figured he was in the shower. His door was really hard and our knuckles were hurting, so I picked up a rock from the garden and knocked with it. Unfortunately this sounded like someone was beating the door down and it scared Noe, who was actually in the shower.
He eventually came and let us in, and we called in an order to go at PF Changs and went to eat at my apartment, then I took a shower while Noe watched TV and Kristi ironed a shirt for me. I had nicked my beard earlier while shaving, so I had to trim it all weird to hide the nick, then Kristi convinced me to just shave it off completely, so I did.
When I came out of the bathroom, and Noe saw my clean shaven face, he laughed for quit a bit. He said it looked fine, but later told me not to shave it off again. Nobody likes the way I look without facial hair, not even me. It’s just not right. Thankfully it grows fast and I should have it back by this weekend.
After I got ready, we dropped her off at home and Noe and I went back to his place to meet his friend so that we could go out to Charlie’s. I had so much fun at Charlie’s, but I didn’t really see anyone I knew out. I did see Rupert and JB. Which provided for some amusement.
Saturday?? What did I do on Saturday? I got up late, did some shopping for a housewarming present for Denise’s party. I had to pick a present up for Gina too, because she was too busy to go shopping herself. I went to Smith and Hawken and got two really great presents that I was very happy with, and a little sad to part with. I also went to Whole Foods and bought some cut orchids and some bamboo for my apartment.
After that, I went home and napped for almost three hours, then Noe came over and we headed out to Gina’s to meet up with her, then out Denise’s housewarming party. I haven’t been to one of Denise’s parties in a long time, and I had forgotten why I quit going. I don’t know anyone at her parties, nor do I want to make friends with anyone there.
Noe and I sat in the kitchen with Hugo and just killed time people watching. OH! But there was this guy, a friend of Denise’s, that I assume was taking pictures for Denise. Either that, or he just enjoyed taking pictures of strangers. He took a picture of Gina, Hugo, and I while Noe was away. He came back later and told Noe that he looked just like a friend of his in Houston. He was practically gushing all over Noe. Then he asked if he could take a picture of Noe and I.
Later he came back and said, “I’m sorry. You just look so much like my friend. Can I take another picture of you, but just you?” And he motioned for me to get out of the way as he said that. How rude is that? Why does he need another picture of Noe? And why do I not need to be in the picture? He was trying to put the moves on my boyfriend!
We left the party a while after that because we were both bored senseless. We went back to my place and watched a little TV.
Sunday I got up extra early. I sat on the balcony reading while I waited for Noe to come over. We had made plans to do a road trip and shop for plants with Kristi. We hooked up with her around 11ish and headed out on the road.
We went to Wimberley first and walked around there for a bit, then headed over to Gruene to have lunch at the Gruene Mansion Inn. Unfortunately it was closed, so we had lunch at the Grist Mill instead. They had the best sausage around, and pretty nice views as well.
We did a little wandering around in Gruene, and took some picture in the General Store and at the Grist Mill. You can click them for larger pictures.

We left Gruene and then drove back to Austin. We stopped at The Great Outdoors in South Austin to shop for plants and to find a self-watering pot for Kristi, we were not successful. So we headed over to Zingers in North Austin to shop some more, and again we were not successful. Kristi and I had never been to Zingers, so we were pretty pleased with it. I’m going to have to go back over there some time when I’ve got some money to burn.
We went home after that and dropped Kristi off, then went to my place and just hung around watching TV all night. And that’s the story of my weekend.
